Also the idea of someone sitting in Caspere's love shack just waiting for anyone to drop by seems incredibly far fetched. So either this is a gaping plot hole or whoever killed Caspere, or ordered the hit to be more accurate, is tapped in to the same people that Semyon questioned in the episode. Setting a trap for him would make sense if the person behind the hit is also responsible for Semyon getting ripped off.

hehe...what if the shotgun guy owns that house? He could have just been wanking off in his room and some dude breaks in and he shoots him. And if he didnt own the house, they could have been waiting for Vaughn, or Vaughn could have put a hit on Farrell because he was talking about quitting.

I guess what I'm saying is I dont think the scenario is that far fetched. Riggins needing viagra to do his girlfriend is far fetched, but a dude with a shotgun wearing a raven mask waiting to bushwack someone in a love shack makes perfect sense.

maybe not....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAvMlksHxtA&t=6m1s

or maybe I need to calibrate my facetiousness meter....

....

You know, I saw that video last night and sorta dismissed the gay thing. I tend to think its more he was abused or traumatized by his mother. I dont remember Riggins talking to the Deadwood guy about homosexuals, so I guess it didnt make an impression on me. Even if he is gay, I dont think gay guys would have a problem performing with women. They do it all the time before they come out of the closet.

pretty sure Riggins is a self-hating closeted homosexual.

--the viagra/blank face when with his girlfriend
--story about that horrible i love you hitting on him at the bank
--eyeballing the gay dues with wings outside on the street, and then the gay hooker getting out of the car and getting drunk.

oh, those guys up there are all talking about it.

some gay dudes can and some can't get it up for a woman. Some really, really, really don't like sex with women.

anyone notice the intro song final verse change?

Episode 1
My woman's here
My children too
Their graves are safe
From ghosts like you

In places deep
With roots entwined
I live the life I left behind

The war was lost
The treaty signed
I was not caught
I crossed the line

I was not caught
Though many tried
I live among you
Well disguised

Episode 2
I could not kill
The way you kill
I could not hate
I tried I failed

You turned me in
At least you tried
You side with them
Whom you despise

Nevermind
Nevermind
I live the life
I left behind

There's truth that lives
And truth that dies
I don't know which
So nevermind

Damn, how did you even know to look for that and where did you find the lyrics? Now I'm going to have to watch/listen to intro songs from now on? Fuuuuu......

That's an interesting clue though, especially the 'hide in plain sight' part.

I think a lot of people don't like Vaughn's performance so far because he's such a unique looking guy and has a wide body of work that most everyone has seen. His look for this show has changed 0% from what people know, so you still see the fast-talking, smart-ass comedy guy. It's definitely hard to take him seriously.

With Matthew McConaughey in S1, his look is different than maybe what you're used to, and I'm not just talking about his old bearded look from the later years, but even at the beginning.

I think Vaughn is doing a good job if you can get past his normal look, if that makes any sense.

I am guessing that the guy that confronted Farrell was sitting in the black car they showed when Farrell showed up at the Hollywood house.

I just got around to watching ep 1 and not sure if I am following it. I assume Vince Vaughn's character owns the casino and has some shady dealing with the European guy, he probably has mob connections. I have no idea who the Weekend At Bernie's guy is, I am guessing he is the guy that Vince Vaughn is looking for. I am also guessing that Colin Farrell's character had something bad happen to his wife and Vince Vaughn helped him with the guy so now he does dirty work for him like beating the reporter. Is the Mexican girl that is missing the one that was with the cop who was suspended?

Isn't that the car that dumped Casper's body? At least that's what popped into my head when they focused in on it as Farrell was walking to the house.

the first episode is a bit murky, but some of that is explained in the episode:

--Farrell/Ray's wife was raped and beaten by some random thug several years ago. The fat kid that is his son, is the product of that rape, but he raises him has his son (shared custody). The wife is still alive, ...but they don't get along. When this happened, and when Ray was still a deputy (the only flashback scene in that episode), Vince gave him the information about the rapist and how to find him. "Not one of my guys." This is how Ray became compromised, as he does the dirty work for Vince Vaughn all these years--like beating up that reporter and taking his research in the article that he was going to write about Vaughn.

--Vince Vaughn is connected/semi-legit/on his way to trying to be full legit...well, maybe. I still don't know exactly what he is, but he has license/union/city power of some sort. That Russian is a competitor, I think, that took the deal that Caspere (the dead dude in sunglasses) was supposed to have with Vaughn. ...I think.

For me the problem is that I really only want to see the breezy, funny Vince Vaughn. He seems uncomfortable delivering this serious dialogue (some of which is terribly overwritten - that monologue last week about being locked in the basement was just painful), and he doesn't pull it off particularly well.

I am unhappy with the all-but-certain death of Colin Farrell, because to me he was the only one of the three detectives who was relatable and/or likable (despite his many personal problems and endless bad behavior). I don't find the Taylor Kitsch or Rachel MacAdams characters believable or interesting, at least not yet.

I will almost certainly watch the entire run of this show, but so far I am not especially impressed.

Every time I see that Russian guy, I think of these commercials. Kind of ruins it for me. :\

It was rubber bullets. He is not dead.

While I enjoyed season 1 I don't place it on a pedestal. Like all shows it had its faults.

But the dialogue in season 2...egads. I'm not looking for philosophical ramblings but I find it quite bad.

Yeah, not wild about the 'high concept' stuff either. It gives you some insight into the characters but it feels like they're hitting you over the head with it.

I'll be honest, I had to watch episode one twice to fill in some blanks. But I still didn't see the gay cop take the Viagra and I still don't know if his girlfriend is the "missing" girl.

Look like the young cop is a Fagito. All the signs are there.

He pops a blue pill when he gives the "I'll be in the shower for 5 minutes" spiel as the water runs.

Non lethal rounds, take that bitches. Too easy really.

Glad he's not dead because I like the character...but that scene was a bit put on last week.

Anyway, awesome episode tonight. Don't know why people don't like the high-minded dialogue--the scripting is what this series is about, and why season one was so insanely good. This week was a bit Lynchesque, wasn't it?

Vaughn's opening monologue in ep 2 had me all hot and bothered. It was totally streets-ahead. Maybe Vince doesn't quite do it justice, but it was still glorious. ...I like him a bit more after this episode.
