check my sig bro. I have an x1950xt. Guess what I had before that? 7600gt. great card, ran cool, I had no complaints, but I couldn't run SC at high-enough settings and I was too cheap to spend 270 AR + for a vid card, so I sold the 7600 gt for $65 on fs/ft and spent 155 AR for the x1950xt. I did not get A SINGLE RECOMMENDATION FOR AN NVIDIA CARD IN THAT PRICE RANGE.
I like nvidia cards. They run cooler. Their fans are quieter. They are almost like intel is to amd, and hey, everybody likes a winner. Unfortunately, they don't make a decent gaming card for less than the price of an 8800 gts 320 right now. That price has fluctuated for 249-279 AR for about 6 mos now. Now, if the 2900 pro gets released in something more than "limited quantities", the 8800 gts 320 will go down. A lot. Immediately. Either that, or, even better, the 8700 gts will come out ASAP instead of making us wait until Q1 08. We enthusiast gamers literally cannot lose in this scenario. We might not win, esp if the 2900 pro can't oc at all or if it can't beat an 8800 gts 320, or, worst of all, if it really is just an extremely limited edition, but we won't lose in any way. I hope that tomorrow morning sapphire comes out with a $199 2900 pro and nvidia fights back with a $199 gts 320. THEN we can go butt heads and espouse the virtues of each. We might even get anand to do a little mano-a-mano comparison, no?
