Allo all! It would seem that we're not a minority after all, a lot of people I know are having the same issues as we are!? They all basically go " Since I upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary, my system has crashed. When I recovered it, I found the problem : my Graphics Card Driver reports:

'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'

This is also the the problem I myself have been experiencing since the upgrade, everything was running fine and error free on Version 1507 build 10.0.10586!!!
which happened 10 days ago. I've been pulling my hair out trying to nail the problem, that being said, I've been a 'system tech' since the days of MS-DOS 3, so I know what I'm doing! (I hope )

So I ran 'Verifier' and it reported that the following drivers were in fact crashing
during boot: dxgkrnl.sys - hal.dll - ntoskrnl.sys!!!

I wonder if DirectX has been changed to only use DX11 and later? HD 3000-5000 series
are only DX10 Cards are they not?

I hope this helps to find a solution as I've tried everything you guys have including a full 'in-place upgrade'.

I own a 'few' systems. The PC I've been having trouble with is my 'work/game-station'.

Spec is as follows:

Audio: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition PCI

HDD: IBM/HGST Deskstar 400Gb SATA2 HDD

Optical DD: Pioneer DVR-118 SATA DVD-RW

Can you roll it back to pre-update status? Does the error go away when you do? Honestly, I am a bit surprised a system of that age will run 10 at all. The Anniversary Update may be giving you a sign that its days are numbered.

Have you tried reinstalling the old driver (the one that worked before the update) in compatibility mode? It's possible that AMD simply doesn't support that card with the latest W10 build or latest driver - even if it should work.

Windows 10 Anniversary's minimum GPU requirement is actually just a DX9 card with WDDM 1.0 driver.

Have you tried installing via device manager? I saw an AMD user with an X1950 having done that, just for the normal Windows 10 though.

I've seen alot of Windows 10 AMD Legacy threads on the Guru3d forum, perhaps you'll have better luck there

well until I here otherwise that is.

Man Alive! Just when yer think it's safe to go an brew up! (or in my case, get back home after bein away, unpack, brew up, etc) I discover a problem!
I can't rollback, in place upgrade or install Windows 10 Ver1511 without loosing my files and settings! The only way it'll let be do it, is if I do a clean install!? :shadedshu::wtf::twitch::banghead: help...

I remember the code 43 error back in the nForce 3 days. Basically you got code 43 on Vista 64 bit and newer because the OS and nVIDIA didn't have 64 bit drivers available for the nForce 3 AGP chipset which meant you lost AGP support. So I would try installing chipset drivers and see if that works.
