Great deal. Tempted to pick up another 7970 but waiting for a sale on a quieter version. $360 for a 7970 with 4 free games is awesome though.

Personally unless you are bitcoin mining, I'd pocket $73 and get this instead. Much quieter, amazing overclocker, still get 3 free games.

Noise is a factor and My rez 2560x1600.....I just had a one of my trusty 6950's die on me and the replacement 670 ftw died in 3days and don't now which card to get anymore honestly....

For high resolution, you want 7900 series. The MSI TF3 is decently quiet at below 50% fan. If you want really really quiet cards, your best bets are:

*Not in any particular order*
1) Sapphire Vapor-X 7970
2) Sapphire Dual-X (but #1 is better)
3) Asus Direct CUII 670/680
4) PowerColor PCS+ 7950

To be honest, while that's a pretty low price for a 7970, I'd much rather have a non-reference MSI/Sapphire/Asus 7950 for $20-40 less

Darkrage, I'd pick up the MSI TF3. It's still cheaper than that reference 7970 and much quieter. It comes with 3 Free games and at 2560x1600, it'll easily beat the 660Ti with overclocking. Actually if you overclock it to 1.1ghz, it'll even beat the 680:

Even a factory preoverclocked 660Ti can't beat an 800mhz 7950 at high rez:

Dam I already bit guys seemed like a good deal, though I would have like a custom cooler..I'm trying to maximize the best performance @2560x1200.

I also read that this one can flash to the 1ghz bios is that correct?

(PS Russian you always got the graphs ready for your replies don't you lol)

Lol. RS always has good graphs to back up his statements.

I checked out Ebay for selling the games and it looks like you'd get $25-28 after fees for all four. So $345 total, which is a killer deal on a new 7970.

I'd be more concerned with why your system is killing graphics cards, than on choosing your next victim. D:

You may want to download HwInfo64 to check that your PSU runs stable on those 3.3 / 12V rails. It could be sudden spikes through the outlet. Are you using a surge protector of any kind?

yeah Im using a Surge protector, I also have 2 other computers in the same room and no problems with them (knocks on wood)...a few weeks back did have the power cut to the room...but the computer in question wasnt plugged in at the time....im at work atm so will monitor with HW when i get home.

I wouldn't recommend flashing the card to a 1.05ghz GE bios since it boosts GPU voltage to 1.25-1.256V at load. Your card will probably be able to overclock to those speeds on stock voltage of 1.175V. No reason to overvolt the card unnecessarily. You can always apply additional voltage such as 1.20V in MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx.
