the plane I fly would be so much better with left and right turning engines. It is not too shabby as it is, but the workload is higher when the critical (left) engine is inoperative.

I used to live half a mile from that airport. It was crazy - summer weekends it was like a war going on. The building I work in overlooks the airport and we don't get much work done when they're out flying. They're usually flying 3-4 airplanes in a time in formation. With so many historic airplanes in the region, lots of airplanes from other areas stop by.

I think I've seen every American WWII fighter fly, as well as most of the bombers.

Yikes! I had no idea that collection was there at the same field!

I did visit the Museum of Flight's restoration facility which is also located at Paine Field.

That isn't a "dogfight," just an airshow demo flight. Still, cool. Wouldn't be very fair if it was a dogfight though. Early model P-38F vs late model F4U-4.

I really wish there were people willing to do real mock dogfights with their warbirds, but I guess no one wants to risk their irreplaceable multimillion dollar toys.

I think the 109 looks like a bar brawler....not something you'd want to meet in a dark alley, but not tops...the spit or the 190 just look like something that cruises around the sky and takes whatever it wants.

The spits wing shape alone is beautiful. Not very strong, but beautiful.
