HD2900xt benches from uncertain source

Here it is: well hiya

I don't know what language it is but it seems scandinavian or maybe ice landic?

The take away is that it is a little slower at 3dmark06 but somewhat faster at Crysis.

Please note that this is the XT (not XTX) version being compared to the GTX.

It seems that as the rez gets higher and the AA and AF are ratcheted up, the R600 and G80 are neck to neck... Not as impressive as I thought.

Where'd they get ahold of the Crysis demo anyway? :disgust:

I was thinking the same thing - thought AMD would blow Nvidia away, of course until offical and we see few more reviews.

I'll buy one just becaues AMD is in tight spot ($$$) - sure would hate to see them sell off or go away, even worst, sell to IBM.

Wouldn't it be great about now to see Matrox come back to life and release some consumer cards again (sorry, that may date me)...

Performance alone means nothing IMO.
Price is the important factor.

language is turkish. And the benchmarks are fake. I'm quite sure Nv products will take the lead in Crysis since this game is mainly being optimized for Nv hardware.

I would think you would be excited that a $400 MSRP R600 model is supposedly beating a card that currently costs closer to $550. Remember this is only the XT.

We don't know for sure the pricing yet, but this place it around where I expected 20% more then 8800 GTX. IF the 3D Mark scores are to be believed.

I'm not sure the optimization really means that much. I remember that tomb raider legend was optimized for nvidia but it still was faster on ati hardware at the time.

Those benchies look fake. Still is hard not to assume the r600 will be a disappointment. midrange may be a different story though. Lets hope ati hurries the r650.

well I could be wrong, especially if R600 was extremely efficient on running DX10 code. And we know absolutely nothing about R600's performance under DX10. It seems to me though, that Nv hardware is fast under DX10, even on an early build of the game and under immature drivers - referring to that Crysis DX10 demo that's been floating around for quite a while. The DX10 version of the game is about optimization, I hope it'll be possible to run both the DX9 AND DX10 versions under Vista, for comparison.

Turkish more likely, it's definately not scandinavian or icelandic

So the HD 2900XT will battle the 8800 GTS/GTX with less memory and cost less. The HD2900 XTX will battle the 8900 GTX with more memory. If these numbers are correct.
