Applying some glue for the next couple of days, and bumping our favorite hardware site to the top.

Not a bad little card for the price, but where is the 4400 series? I'd love to stick 44x0s in my testbeds.

Pretty Neato that 4670 in crossfire (2 cards) performs about the same as a 4850. Still like to see a review in quad crossfire.

I'm extremely impressed with this card! No external power required, cool, low power, and delivers ~3870 performance? For $79? I was really shocked at the conclusion of the AT review. Derek seemed disappointed. This is a massive step up from last years mid range.

I think the big winner with these parts are going to be laptop OEM's once AMD starts putting these out in mobile fashion. Low low power consumption with top notch performance, can't wait!

This little card is on a par with the 7900gtx, shows how fast technology moves

really thinking of picking on up for a budjet system

No it's way faster than that! You are getting essentially 9600GSO/8800GTS 320/3850 256mb performance for $80. (Not so impressive compared to 9600GSO I suppose). But remember with rebates these bad boys will soon cost $40-50! I paid $270 for my 8800GTS in the summer of 2007. If mid-range cards were as pleasant as 6600GT and 4670, I'd just buy a new mid-range $80 every 12 months. Maybe it's time to change my upgrading methods.

This would actually be the perfect card for those still using a CRT scaling res down to about 1280*960.

This looks perfect to replace the 7800GT I have in my HTPC. I wanted to get a blu-ray/hd player and this seems like it will give me the decoding power I need (my 7800gt stutters a little in 1080p) as well as a boost in gaming performance, especially since my TV is only 720p. I'm thinking throw a S1 on this (assuming it will fit) and run it in passive mode for complete silence.

Anyone see a reason to go for a 9600GT over this if the main concern is playback of HD and the secondary is gaming?

the 4870 would equal or beat the 7900gtx for sure. in fact in most modern games the 4670 would easily beat it.

Or those of us with 1280x1024 LCDs and smallish power supplies.

This is the card I have been waiting for.
Newegg wants list price plus $8 shipping for the thing though.

The 4670 is probably around twice as fast as a 7900gtx in modern games.

It's obvious that 128 bit bus and 8 ROP does have a toll. It's much better than 8600gts or 9500gt but it doesn't quite handles midrange price segments like the gso gt or 3850. Once these boys are overclocked it will easily dust the 4670 with 128 bit bus.

Shit I'll settle for low-profile card.

well the card is good for the money and has plenty of perks for for oem comps.

also the 4670 will beat the 3850 even more with higher settings and AA in most of the benchmarks I have seen. overall the 9600gt is easily a better card but its much larger and needs external power. if you have a decent power supply and case then the 9600gt is a no brainier especially since they can be found for under $100. other than that the 4670 appears to be a much better card for the money than a 3850.
