I just heard about the AuzenTech HDA X-Plosion 7.1 DTS Connect card and am considering it over the X-Fi Elite Pro. Would that be a smart choice? (considering DTS as a major advantage)

Wonder how it would sound with the Creative Gigaworks S750 speakers? Would anyone care to recommend something better?

I also have a query regarding the card.Is there room for adding in more speakers via the coaxial or optial connectors? What else can these connectors be used for?

How is Analog output when compared to Digital output? (since gigaworks connection to the card is analog).

THANQ.

If the speaker system will be close to your computer, I see no reason not to get the X-fi.

It's not an advantage since you don't have an external DTS decoder.

It seems to be somewhat better than an Audigy 1.

well actually, in my room, the rear speakers will be more than 6m behind me .... and the mid speakers will be abou 3m behind me .... its not exacly what you would call "close" to me.

It would be a component that would take the digital output from the X-Plosion, decode it into analog and (in your case) then connect to the S750 using the analog cables. There wouldn't be any benefits for you, since the X-Fi's analog output will have no problems beating it. But if you want to take advantage of the X-Plosion's single trick, you need an external decoder.

Top reason not to get an X-Fi: Creative sucks at writing software and drivers.
Top reason to get an X-Plostion: Amazingly fun voice effects.

well i have a question ... i would like to know what your recommendation is for better sound quality in movies and listening to music (not so much gaming)...

should i buy a HDA X-Plosion and a digital speaker system from logitech (if yes, pls recommend which system) or...
should i buy an X-Fi and the gigaworks S750 analog system?

I see very little reason to get the X-Fi. The anoalog out on the X-Plosion is really good. As another member pointed out, stray away from using digitial unless its your only choice. Analog (amazingly enough) offers better quality becasue the digital links (unless you use DD or DTS passthrough with dvds) recompress the audio streams (yuck!).

Logitech makes great speakers. I have the Z-5500s, and they sound great.

I'm using the onbeard DFI isolated karijon (sp?) or whatever sound card thing, sounds just as good as the X-Plosion on analog or digital. Although I cant say I spent a whole lot of time comparing them.

Get the X-Plosion, you can do fun voice effects and the drivers dont suck like creatives =P.

i have the latest xplosion card that has the DTS live feature. The sound is amazing and beats audigy 2 and below easy but then again thats not saying much. I havent heard xifi but people that have heard both say xplosion sounds better and definitely has better driver support. My audigy 2 card cant even be detected by audigy drivers cd even though the OS detects. Someone was selling on here for like $80 or something dollars i forgot. May want to check it out. Cheers.

Curious, I am mainly intereseted in the up-sampling of computer game audio to DTS 5.1 conversion. Is it any good? I'm assuming you have a DTS decoder box.

I've read not many games support this though.
