I am not too sure what the problem is but here goes.
I purchased a new HDD, a Seagate .10 (perpendicular recording, SATA 2, etc) and connected it upto this motherboard, and nothing!!! I sent the motherboard back because after this no other HDD was recognised either!!! I got the motherboard back, and this time the HDD IS recognised, after a long time POSTing, but it fails to boot. I don't know if its because of the SATA 2 interface. I tried without the jumpers and the HDD wasn't recognised at all, as expected. I tried an older HDD this time and they worked (older Western Digital HDD, not too sure what model etc.) I am upset because I have looked on the ASUS website to no avail. I will try tech support soon enough, not too sure if they'll be able to help. I was just wondering if anyone else had this same problem at all, and if so what fix helped???
Thanking you in advance, Wayne
