I will try to make this as clear and short as possible! I just put together a new build, specs below.
Processor Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz
Cooling Scythe Mugen-2 Rev.B
Video HIS H587FN1GD Radeon HD 5870 1GB
Motherboard ASRock P55 DELUXE3
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3-1600
Hard Drive Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB
SSD OCZ Agility Series OCZSSD2-1AGT60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II
Optical Drive LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW
Case Antec 900 Two
Power Supply CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W SLI Ready
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
**********************************************************
Everything is connected correctly. I installed windows, it ran some window updates, I installed catalyst drivers and here we are.
I have both the HD and SSD hooked up to the SATAII ports, and the optical drive is in the SATA 3 port.
Now when I started it up, the HD was not deteced by bios. After updating the bios, during one of the resarts, the HD was now deteced but the SSD was not detecting. So I installed windows on the HD as well, started it up, and tried to install more bios items that came with the CD. Nonetheless, the SSD was not detected.
So now, I unplugged the SATA connection to the HD, and it now detecs the SSD...Now it seems if I power down, and reconnect the HD, then it will detect on the next start up but that is it...after a restart it only detects the HD again and not the SSD!! so that is WTF1.
WTF2, after the SSD was detected again (after disconnecting the HD), one of my 2 monitors was stuck in 800x600 resolution and could not be changed..it was the only one allowed. I tried to reinstall the video drivers but to no avail. The monitors I use are about 3 years old, some 22" Chimel monitors that never gave me any problems. That is WTF2.
So any suggestions to either problem, or suggestions in general? Thanks in advance for the help!
