Monoprice has great prices, and great shipping. I have done business with them before and will continue for those two reasons. I did however buy an hdmi cable from them, a "premium" one I believe, for <10$. About 3 months later, it was broken under minimal use and proper conditions (cord not in tension, cool environment, etc.). Just a word to the warning, not sure on the longevity of the cords. Then again, for a few bucks at a time.. by the time you replace enough times to match monster cable's prices, that cord technology will be obsolete!

Are you guys sure Monoprice is cheaper? I have not looked but I did buy one there for $16 + shipping a month ago. I remember there was a thread here like a week later that had them for $8 shipped at Monoprice but if $8 is their normal price, I feel ripped off for buying right before Christmas.

$8 is the normal price for the 15ft HDMI cable. The regular 8,6,3 are in the $5-3.50 range.

$8 is the normal price for the 15ft HDMI cable. The regular 8,6,3 are in the $5-3.50 range.

But that doesn't include shipping does it? I don't remember seeing any Monoprice HDMI cables for less that $9 shipped.

Well, I just went there, the 6' is $8.76 shipped to me. So this deal is about the same as Monoprice, it all depends if you need the extra 0.6' or not. Or, whether or not you're Canadian - because I'm sure they don't allow imperial measurements accross the border

Can anyone tell me what the longest length you can run one of these before problems occur (signal loss ??) not sure if there is a limit...I need to run one about 75 feet or so.

10 meters, but I guess it depends on the quality of the cable.

Monoprice sells four different gauges of HDMI cables. Other than for length, does the gauge make any appreciable difference in picture quality?

And why do only the thinner gauges have ferrite cores?
