HDR/Bloom effect Problems

the problem Im having with the HDR/Bloom effects is what I think to myself is offsetted too much, examples:

This pic was taken with a 17' CRT, x1900 XT, before my reformat and old monitor
ATI Demo for the x1x00 Image

This pic was taken recently (Today) with my new 20.1' Widescreen Dell, x1900 XT after I reformated my computer
ATI Demo for the x1x00 Image

same problem, i dont know wat it is or wat's causing it. A few Oblivion SS too, not the same kind of white outline but the HDR presented is off:

this screen shot was taken about a week after i got Oblivion. (Frame Rates are low from the grass shadowing, takes a steep hit in my FPS, turning it off gave me a 10 fps boost at this res) But if you look at the trees, you can see what im trying to say, the brightness of the sky is overlapping the tree but were its darker supposed to be right on the tree. It shows it on all the trees in this SS.

Oblivion 1680x1050 Widescreen SS

continuing, in the 3dmark 2006, the North Pole encampment and the Ballon Ship and Sea Monster test, the screen is completely white, but the two edges on the bottom and right hand of the screen are still visible, but only slightly. I didnt have the time to take a SS of it though.

==========================================

Anywho, can any of you tell me what the problem is? I've had it for awhile so its starting to get to me, lol.

Thanks for your time.

at the time i took that first SS, i just got my x1900, so the drivers are from early feburary. My current driver version is

Driver Packaging Version - 8.221-060124a1-030152C-ATI
CATALYST® Version - 06.2
Provider - ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version - 6.14.10.6599
2D Driver File Path - System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{--}\0000
Direct3D Version - 6.14.10.0379
OpenGL Version - 6.14.10.5646
CATALYST® Control Center Version - 1.2.2217.17271
AIW/VIVO WDM NSP Driver Version - 6.14.10.6325

so they might be the same version unless theres a newer one out

but yea, it is only in a bloom/hdr effect, it happens in wen i play World of Warcraft with full settings (w/ bloom effect on) and my borders has a strange glow, similar to the ATI Demo SS, but in a fruity color arrangement, lol

To be perfectly honest I have no idea. I'd at least try downloading different drivers though. Either that or RMA? I mean, it's got to be either something wrong with the card or the drivers, right?

Ill try a different driver. At first I thought the same thing about the card being wrong (when I had my older card 9800 Pro) but the same kind of problem I had on some other games (forgot to mention that i had the same kind of problem with my 9800 pro). So i thought the analog connection with my crt screen was the deal, so i got the widescreen lcd from dell with the dvi connection but same problem. Now its down to driver problems.

As far as i know, i tryed the omega drivers for ATI and the only thing that my computer wont accept is the ATI Tools, everytime i started it up, it gave me a blue screen and restarted my comp. Because of that, i uninstalled the omega drivers and just got the standard ones from ATI, but ill try the other drivers that are avalable (or even Omega without the tools)

This is the only thing that fusterates me the most about computers, finding how to stablize new hardware, lol

You don't have a large HDR magnet sat just to the right of your monitor or anything?

If it's not the drivers, then I have no other ideas. I mean, you've swapped out everything else, right?

i tryed the Omega drivers again (Omega 3.8.231) and now on the ati demo, instead of a strong white glow on the sides, it was replaced with a weak orange glow... lol, the only thing that would be close to my monitor with a large magnet is my subwoofer (The z5500 Logitech) but thats 3-4 feet away. This thing really boggles me though, it happened to me on both the 9800 pro and this card, same problem

*Edit*
I just played Oblvion with these new drivers and the sky looks great now. The ati drivers are so crappy, lol, the omega drivers fixed my problem with the offset look on Oblivion that i had.

and for some reason, the glowing is gone, i dont know wat i did though but i did uninstall the omega to try the Beta version of ATI's drivers for Oblivion to enable AA support with HDR on.

heres some SS of the game

Oblivion SS 1 1680x1050 Widescreen (HDR + AA 4x)
Oblivion SS 2 1680x1050 Widescreen (HDR + AA 4x)
Oblivion SS 3 1680x1050 Widescreen (HDR + AA 4x)
Oblivion SS 4 1680x1050 Widescreen (HDR + AA 4x)

Very nice .

Looks like it might have been a problem with the 6.2 drivers then. There was a guy on the TES forums who had the exact same thing, although I never found out if/how he fixed it as the boards move so ridiculously quickly there and the search seems to be constantly on the blink.

Nice to see you managed to fix it though .

lol, thnx. I try my best to figure out these solutions on my own, but sometimes they can be a pain in the butt to figure out. But now a new problem, lol.

Im having a new problem with my wireless mouse though :-/. Its a G7 Logitech mouse, only had it for about 3 months so far but this problem just started out as a studdering of the cursor then became to temperary lose of connection from the mouse to the receiver. It stalls for like 2 seconds or up to 10 seconds then comes back. Sometimes it does it every 10 seconds or doesnt even do it for hours. My computer though sits right next a wireless router. I saw a similar problem on the reviews of the mouse, if that if you have a wireless router, it interferes with this mouse (since the frequency is 2.4ghz) that it can pick up signals on the router wen ever the receiver from the mouse changes channels which causes the temp delay in response. Im not sure how true it is, but i always had a wireless router and this problem on came last month. It bugging the crap outa me too, lol though id just hate to say that i got a lemon since i really like the G7 mouse
