i wouldnt fret, all these manufacturers are gonna make add-ons for existing tv's to get the DVI connection.

nice deal too bad there are no hdtv broadcasting in my area. Just got a samsung hd ready 27 inch tv, 480p. looks great but no hd to look at. Don't know that I want to get rid of my cable.

I think time warner gives you the HDTV box for free to keep your business.
I've seen a few already at TWC customers homes, whats the difference in buying one or using there equipment?

if you buy one, they have direct-tv built in and also get OTA HDTV signals..
I have 6 OTA stations in the philly area right now, and may 1 they are adding 9 more...
On direct-tv, you get HD-NET in 1080i HD!!! Its Mark Cubans baby, and its sweet..
Hockey games are incredible... now they are getting like 90 baseball games this year..
You also get HBO-HD, which is sweet also!!!
They will be adding more HD stations to Directtv most like this summer..

This isn't really that great a deal...if you follow the AVSForum, you'll see that $400 is a fairly common price for this receiver. The receiver does have a number of quirks...that may or may not deter your purchase...see www.avsforum.com.
