I'll stop by tomorrow for sure. I'm just gonna walk by, see if their name is anywhere on a directory, and if they have a suite, I'll go up and check it out (if that's possible). I'll post something here tomorrow.

Well, I?m back with the update. I just came from their address on Wall Street. Apparently this entity does indeed exist. They are renting out office space at 67 Wall Street, which is a fairly large building. According to the security officer at the front, the rental terms for the arrangement Ogden has are very flexible. In other words, they are only there for a limited time, it could be a day, a month, a year, whatever. That is a little sketchy. However, he did allow me to go up to the floor where they rent space. I spoke with a receptionist there who informed me that no one from Ogden was in the office today, but that sometimes there is someone there. She said that usually someone will come in when s/he has an appointment. Hmmm. Anyway, I guess the good news is that they do exist, they are renting out space, and the receptionist did know what I was talking about when I asked to speak with someone from Ogden. Although she could not give me any contact information, she did say that someone was in the office.

Considering that these TVs are pretty nice, particularly the Toshiba, I would like to follow through on this. Could people please try calling them until someone gets a hold of a representative? I will be more than happy to meet with a person from Ogden (I literally work across the street) if someone thinks that?s a good idea. So I say let?s try to get in touch with an actual person, perhaps I?ll met with someone, and then we can all feel a little better about this purchase.

I do feel that this might be safe. I would be concerned about long term business with this group (i.e. if you want to talk with them should something happen to the TV down the road), but I feel considering they do actually exist and have office space (at least for the time being), the business and TVs are legit.

Please feel free to IM me (osiris3mc), PM me, or email me (osiris3mc@yahoo.com).

Hope this helps everyone!

They are a member of ebay and are selling items on there under the name "ogdonfinancial" as their username. They have only been on there since July of this year and have only sold 3 items.

They've now added a Panasonic 37" plasma for $1750 and a Dell 4600 desktop. Interesting... they have 13 items on sale on Ebay (TV's and computers). 4 other closed Ebay auctions, one with a negative post.

I don't know how they could have any items up for sale...they are "not a registered user." I'm not sure if this JUST happened or what, but, that's the status of their ebay account.

That I believe. Their office certainly would not have the products on-hand. The rent down here is ridiculous. They probably ship from an entirely different location.

Ogdon calims they refunded this person. miyagisan, if people cant pickup from their new york office I wonder where they expect folks to pick-up a TV. real shady company.

i would purchase this with my amex if i was currently working, but as i'm already looking for a 65" hdtv, i can't afford the excess of a 40" hdtv even if it does come through.

edit: i just spoke to my mom about this deal. i'm now considering etting the 42" hitachi for my bedroom, but have to read the fine print of my amex card to make sure i won't get burned in hte end

Dont buy from this company! It's a scam. I Talked to the person who left them negative ebay feedback again and here is what they wrote.

As you all know because of the negitive response that I left on Ogdon's site I have been receiving emails like crazy from others who have experienced the same problem. It's apparant that this is not Ogdon's first time pulling this. They pulled this same sceam on another Web Site like Ebay and was kicked off. Here's http://www.ioffer.com/wholeStory.do?txnID=17997

Here is the person behind Ogdon is Greg Ebreus. I talked to him and sounds like BS to me. However. If you don't already have his #...Here it is...1-786-317-6823. The guys name is Gregory Abreus. I tried to press charges on him last year but he hired and attorney and got away with about 130,000.00. About 42,000. was from my customers. This guy is a crook and he has been stealing from people for a long time.

Alright, so it's a scam. It's settled for me. Now what I want to know is why a scammer would use a Wall St. Address. Doesn't that have to be some of the most expensive Office space there is?

I mean, do they think that the cachet of a Wall St. Addy will help them hook enough ppl. to justify the cost?

Yeah, the guard at the building told me that whoever rents space on the 22nd floor (where this company's office is) has no rental agreement. They can rent the space for a day, week, month, whatever. This means they can just take off whenever they like...

i sent them an email asking which model tv it is (i later saw it on the web), and this is the exact response i recieved

New In Box.#42h83

If it is indeed a scam, why can't i buy it on my amex, and let them sort it out if i get burned? all i would have to do is file a few forms, and fax the details and that's it, right?

I don't believe you would have protection if you used your credit card to make a purchase. It appears the seller is using a UK business (Moneybookers.com) that will take cash from your credit card and transfer it through a middleman to the seller. I believe your credit card company would argue that they provided you what you authorized- a transfer of cash.

Even with an AMEX I wouldn't touch this deal with a ten foot pole. It's screaming all of the classic signs of a scam. Don't let the adage "a fool and his money are soon parted" apply to you.
