ummm.. you guys have never heard of IBAs? (Internet Billing Accounts) A lot of companies go through IBAs like Ibill and moneybrokers instead of getting a merchant account and gateway like authorize .net.

This is legitimate practice and your credit card will be just as protected. Moneybrokers will give your money back before they allow you to issue a chargeback against their merchant account.

moneybrokers doesn't make any provisions, nor mention any such provisions for fraud on their website, so i take it they don't offer any

They have to per visa/mastercard rules. Visa/Mastercard rules supercede any merchant or anyone who processes Visa/Mastercards rules. If you call your credit card company about fraud then you can issue a chargeback directly through your credit card company. After a couple days/weeks if moneybrokers or the tv guy don't refund your money the issueing bank for your credit card gives moneybrokers the finger, gives your money back and charges moneybrokers a chargeback fee.

I work for an online merchant and it doesn't matter what you do, if you don't have a tracking number and/or signature slip then your customer WILL get his money back if he tries hard.

osiris, can you try buying a tv from their offices directly, or at least go see the merchandise? i know it's a stretch, but if you dont mind, at least see if he has anything. if he does then i'll dive in, if not then i'll chalk it up to a scam (which i'm pretty sure it is)

This GREGORY ABREUS character is a crook. He lives in Homestead Florida. The
address that has him listed at Homestead, FL is the best bet since it has been
linked to loan he had filled out for disater relief in Florida.


There is a group of people seeking a class action lawsuit against him. And one person was robbed out of 42 grand. Further info on this person can be found from Mrs. Detective Love in the Miami North Beach Police department.
