Dear Ebuyer Customer:

We apologize for the inconvenience as the products listed above are currently out of stock. Your
card has been refunded and the items have been removed from your order.

ebuyer sold out of them. gotta find another source for $20 headbanger universal's with the 2.5mm. Can anyone confirm that this from newegg is the universal set? It says Universal in the description, but then it says in the title "for PSP." No detailed specs.

One would assume that since it is listed in the PSP section, states it is for the PSP, and no where in the description can I find the word universal it would be a safe bet that it is not the universal ones but indeed the PSP version.

Universals safe bet so far it would seem be only walmart considering it said universal at Amazon but one guy rang in saying he got a PSP version from them. I got mine from walmart and did get the universal type that was shown. I had also went ahead and updated the OP link to go to walmart. So far I havent be able to find it cheaper either. All other cheaper places are OOS.

As far as 2.5mm plug I cant say. I can say it fits my psp, my Z5500 pod, my Z560 pod, my sons portable cd player, and my little mp3 player if that would be of any help to you as to what size the plug is. If you need to up size or down size I am sure radio shack can accomodate you to do so if need be though.

Features A pair of earbud headphones with a wired amplified electronic subwoofer / Universal design for all audio devices

Pelican Headbanger Universal Ear Subs - This set of earbuds have been designed to let you hear the best Sound possible from any Audio device. The Elecronic Amplified Subwoofer (EAS) and "Speed Chamber" ear buds deliver Bass at a range that's far lower than most any other set of earbuds on the market. The highs and mid range haven't been neglected either. The EAS makes sure they're polished to perfection.

I'm trying to avoid the 3.5mm to 2.5mm. I'm gonna research a few more websites. Funny how they brag about having 3 different flavors, yet fail to identify the difference between them.

One other note...

I listen mostly to tunes on my MP3 player. I usually have to turn the volume up to almost max on the MP3 player to get the volume I want. With the headbangers, I only have to put the MP3 player at about 1/3 of max volume and it's already way loud enough.

Oh, you don't want to lost your hearing! Try this exercise, sit in a dark room 15 mins/day; do thinng, but listen to every little sound - not for long, you'll appericate lower volume. Take good care of yourself before too late.

So the ones at Newegg are Univerals, but listed in the PSP section?

I emailed Newegg to see if they can determine which version they are selling. I tried to find listings by model #s but couldn't find any info on the Pelican website - maybe these are discontinued?

So far had these for close to 2 weeks and my batteries haven't died yet, I use them appox 1.5 hrs per weekday going to and from work. Still sound great, like I said b4 I think the amp is clunky and the design of the headphones themselves are awkward too but these are not bad issues since the value of these are great for ~$20.

I hear you. I thought it would be a killer for me as well, but the sound more than makes up for the inconvenience. I just hook it to my shirt or pants pocket. It's not so bad.

agreed the price is right for a decent set of buds, the clunky amp is a hindrance(spelling?) for sure. I personally have gone ahead and preordered the new CX300's from sennheiser after I demo'd a pair at a local soundshop. Due to ship in early Feb.

well, that's because it has an external power source. it doesnt really say much when your headphones are powered not only by the mp3 player, but external batteries too.

No not bass shakers but bass reproducers. They dont shake giving you the feeling that its really low bass but it hits thoes really low tones that you would normally only hear coming from a amped 12" sub box from your ht set up.

Gotta tell you, Hit the button on 4 pairs as some psp xmas gifts will just love these. I will admit, I am a bit of an audiophile, but I'm with Funboy, let's kick it while we are portable.
Had bought 4 pairs of full size headphones from where ever and they had the battery bass boost. it was awsome for the kids in the van on trips. I was blown away with Jurassic Park and the likes. These sound like they will be so much cleaner than those purchased 5 years ago. Can't go wrong for the price. keep the thread alive. "volume is a relative thing" "Too much power is not enough"
