I called up two CC's by my house (Southern California) and the guys in the Car Audio dept said that they will be discontinuing Alpine on Dec 31st, but they're not sure if they'll be putting anything on Clearance. As of now, nothing is on clearance or sale.

It is possible that this whole thing is just yanking our chain. I am not implying that OP is doing that on purpose, but perhaps due to incomplete or premature information.

In any case, I think that most of us are on this forum to get good deals. Well, as they say in the mother country, "If you want to ride the sleigh down the hill, you must love pulling it up the hill too." So, evaluate each possible deal and decide whether you are willing to do (or it is worth) any legwork. The outcome is rarely guaranteed. I have been wanting a specific $300 Alpine item that I will never pay full price on. If I get it as part of this deal, great. If not, nothing is lost. So, thank you OP.

Also notice, none of CC's Alpine items are available online. Only as a store pickup. In my mind it does add credibility to the OP.

Man, you must be insane. Take a chill pill or 5. He posted this thread as a heads up. By the way, you should know better than to listen to anyone who works at circuit city for accurate information. The managers that work there are pretty much salesmen and we all know what salesmen do right? They love to take gigantic dumps in cereal bowls and feed it to you for breakfast. Tastes good doesnt it? Thats exactly what they want you to believe.

CircuitCity.com shows two subwoofer mono amplifiers at $199. As mentioned earlier, all the Alpine equipment listed on the site is only available for in store pickup. I added both models to my cart and then started the checkout process to find if any of my local stores had either in stock. All three locations were sold out of the MRD-M300, but all of them had the MRP-M350 available. The out of stock unit is probably the one on sale, but I'll go check tomorrow morning - just in case. OP, thanks for the heads up.

usually because of slow/nonexistent sales is why a retailer discos a manufacturer's line but also could be Alpine and CC disagreeing on kickbacks/pricing of the product lines..quite a few bigbox retailers get $ from the manufacturers for shelf/floor space as well..lotsa different reasons can be the one or a combination thereof ..itsa keep checking thread ..

Okay guys, This was a pre cursor, hence I originally typed, HEADS UP, DEALS ARE COMING. I didn't say they are here yet. I went home and checked which items the managers marked down for me and they were last years alpine models that were marked down already but since they were going to start getting rid of stuff anyhow they marked them down further for me. In the south Texas area, they have a warehouse full of last years alpine 300 mono channel amps. These are on sale here for dirt cheap if you order through the warehouse. Store doesn't have anymore though.

I so spoke with my manager friends and asked what was going to happen. The rest of the alpine items will be coming down in price SOON. They are going to space it out, make sure they get rid of everything or as much as they can by Dec 31st and still have tons for holiday sales. Think Black Friday deals and what not. These are going to be the hot priced items over the next few months.

I don't think you were intentionally misleading anyone with your post. I do think that you were just doing a little bragging. Like I said, if you had provided the information that only came later, then I wouldn't have wasted my time. My experience with B&M only clearance items is that one needs to get to the store as quickly as possible and maybe the employees won't have grabbed or hidden all the stock before you get there.

I did say the mono channel amps are on sale AT MY LOCAL STORE. Those are the 300 model, which are last years, and are right now out of stock at most CCs. There's a ton here in south Texas though, in the warehouse at least and can be ordered.

If you RE READ my original post, I NEVER SAID THE DEALS WERE HERE NOW. I specifically mentioned that they will be STARTING NEXT WEEK. Good gawd, I didn't even edit it so re read it again in entirity. It's not my fault you made an assumption from my post. The older stuff is being cleared out RIGHT NOW THOUGH, if you can get them through your local CC. The rest will be coming down to clearance prices and I was told starting they will start as early as next week. However, that is not set in stone and anything can and will happen.

I dunno, the OP seemed pretty clear to me, and I didn't rush off to every CC in my area like a fool. next time I am in a CC, I might stop by the car audio section, when normally I wouldn't.

If I b!tched every time my local Wal-mart, target, CC, etc. didn't have the same deals that were posted here, I would be a very busy b!tcher.

San Antonio, the CC by north star mall... they had a few older Alpine units, all gone now. Since they are going to start clearance on all alpine units, and these were already marked down for being old in inventory, I was able to get them to mark them down further for me. I won't lie and say it wasn't because I didn't work there before and left in good standing and knew all the managers. But, I only bought one of each and they sold the rest to customers standing next to me. So they are all out. The older 300 mono channel amp, can't remember the item number (worked in the computer department), is still in the warehouse. Something like 201 in stock there but no stores have them. 9848 is the warehouse number, but any rep working in SA should know that anyhow. I was told last night they were going to sit on these and make them a big sale in the local area here soon so do NOT rush in the store asking to buy them, just keep an eye out every sunday.

It's actually because BB will be carrying Alpine. CC was trying a powermove like they did with Kenwood. Hopefully they start carrying Eclipse and the high end Pioneers now.

I used to work at CC, so I know how they work. You're going to get extremely lucky if you find a store that cuts the price on their inventory, because there's no reason they wouldn't just send their stock back to manufacturer.
