You make an excellent point ikachu and I often ask myself why not try ranked.

I think I'll do that next time I log and try my deck as is and see how I fare.

But in Casual I thought you were rankd based on your character level? Not that is saying much...

Other tip request: What is your card ratio in a deck? My Paladin as maybe a 60/40 ratio of Spells/Units...and if I have nice cards soon I tend to easily win but when my starting hand is Ysera and 2-3 5+ cards it's not good...

From what I heard, matching in casual is based on your ranked MMR, except wins and loses don't change it. So, if you never play ranked, you are getting matched up against everyone else that doesn't play ranked.

Dunno I guess there could be bugs but according to the Hearthstone devs they are independent.

and some more clarification:

Ben Brode ‏@bdbrode Jan 3
@Ronik6 @TheKIsEvil Ranked Mode doesn't use MMR until you hit Legend Rank, but yes, your Legend MMR is different than your Casual MMR.

Ben Brode ‏@bdbrode Jan 2
@TheKIsEvil Casual tries to quickly find you an opponent with equal skill. It adjusts your hidden MMR quickly when you lose or win streak.

They might have changed it. I had only heard that before the new ranked mode patch.

Here's my deck as best as I can recall...
There's something fishy but it's solely based on Casual play so maybe it's ok and I don't know it yet lol

1x Blessing of Might
1x Hand of Protection
2x Humility
1x Light's Justice
2x Holy Light
1x Sunfury Protector
1x Acidic Swamp Ooze
1x Bloodfen Raptor
2x Novice Engineer
1x Wolfrider
2x Consecration
2x Blessing of Kings
1x Hammer of Wrath
2x Truesilver Champion
1x Stormwind Knight
1x Abomination
1x Fen Creeper (gold woohoo )
2x Argent Commander
1x Sunwalker
2x Guardian of Kings
1x Stormwind Champion
1x Ysera

Units: 15
Spells: 15

Mana curve:
1 mana = 5
2 mana = 7
3 mana = 1
4 mana = 8
5 mana = 2
6 mana = 3
7 mana = 3
8 mana = 0
9 mana = 1

Sometimes it rock like there's no tomorrow and other times it sucks as hell. Bad draws are the worst heheh

My first impression is that you have (way) too many spells in that deck. Paladins generally rely on board control to win and you need minions to do that.

I can't remember the names/rarity of the different cards but I'd recommend taking out the Hand of Protection and replacing it w/ the guy who gives divine shield as a battlecry, and the humility can be replaced by Aldor Peacekeeper. Both of those are better than the pure spell version of the card imo because they also help establish board presence.

Not sure how well this works in constructed, but I've had a lot of success using Young Brewmasters to bounce those guys in arena since their battlecries are pretty powerful.

I don't really like the Holy Lights either (except against mages). Lay on Hands is better (although it's epic) because at least it draws you some cards. Anyway, I'd experiment with pulling those out and running something else (earthen ring farseer maybe if you still feel like you want some healing).

Light's Justice isn't that good either. I guess it's good for killing 1 health minions, but there aren't that many of them in the game. If you end up running your face into a 3/2 minion a couple of times to kill it, you've kind of done more harm than good. Sword of Justice is a lot better imo (although epic, again), especially if you add more low cost minions to your deck.

I would put getting 'Equality' pretty high on your list because it's one of the better paladin spells. You can combo it w/ consecration, avenging wrath, or wild pyromancer to clear the board.

I don't like your lack of a real turn 3 play. You have a single 3 mana card.

Also, Ysera is okay, but you need a Slyvanas and a Rag.

Thanks for the advices, i'll work on that tonight.
That's what I thought too, maybe I lack minions...

Of course most of those cards depend an extreme amount on whether you've gotten them in pack draws. I know I could tweak al my decks, but I've only got one non-given legandary and only a couple of the desired epics.

IIRC dusting your first legendary completes a quest that gives you enough dust to make any other legendary, so if you wanted a Slyvanas or Rag (which I'd recommend Slyv first), DE that other legendary you got would give you one.

Yeah same here, I don't have access to Rag or other cool legendaries. I bought the $20 for 15 packs even though I sweared I never will spend real money but after playing a lot and tremendously enjoying the game I decided to give some money, which also helped me get some cards.

I'm working on getting more by playing more with gold instead of real money.

I also fixed a max real money to spend on the game and that is $20 a month. I want to feel the enjoyement of getting great cards by actually playing the game and also getting great cards quickly.

Rhezuss, also, not sure if you've tried arena yet but if you can do moderately well you will end up getting more value out of your gold than if you use it to buy packs. It costs 150g to enter but you automatically get a pack at the end, and you will get 50g back if you get like 2-3 wins.

For arena I recommend going to ihearthu.com and freethnkr.com and look at their arena card rankings. They aren't up-to-date per the latest patch, and everyone has different ideas, but it'll give you something to start from.

It also doesn't hurt to watch some of the streamers such as Kripp or Trump. Especially pay attention to their drafts.

Thanks for the links. Dunno if i'll go check them since I prefer the hard and hurtful way of discovering it by myself

But i'm keeping those in mind, thanks.

Looks like we were supposed to get the card changes today, but with the wow server crapping the bed last night they postponed our maintenance.

There's a quest for scrapping a legendary? Hmm, although mine is illidan and I actually like him. Maybe I'll do it on the next one I get.

Yeah, your first one gives you enough dust to make any of the others (3600 IIRC). So, you can basically trade it for another. I think the go to first legendary is Slyvannas, due to it fitting in really any deck. Probably followed by Rag, also due to it being extremely useful in most decks.

Is it the first time you disenchant a legendary or specifically disenchanting the first legendary you obtain? I know I've DEd one but I don't remember getting any bonus for doing so, though I don't believe it was the first one I got (since that would be Gelbin iirc).

How does Crafting works in this game?
I checked yesterday and saw my cards "greyed out", I could select them and on the botoom ther was a panel with 2 sides: a +000 and a -000

I guess the +000 is what the card gives you for DEing it?
But the -000`? What it would cost to craft it?

And...should I DE my Hungry Crab?

I think it has to be the first legendary you obtain that isn't a leveling reward. I was told this by a streamer, so perhaps you have to check.

If that's true mine is Ysera
Is this a Daily Quest or just something that happens when you DE your first legendary?

Only thing I found was mention of a one time reward for first disenchant that only gives 95 dust for the first time you DE any card.

I've never heard of that before, is it possible the streamer was trolling?

You do get bonus dust for the first time you DE a card (any card, i think it's like an extra 80 dust or something). I definitely wouldn't DE your Ysera, it's a useful legendary. I guess you can find out if you end up getting a duplicate and DE it.

Personally, I don't disenchant anything unless I have extras (using the 'mass disenchant' option). It doesn't make much sense to imo because you only get 1/4th of the dust it takes to craft the card, and you never know when the card will suddenly find its place in a deck.

A lot of people will disenchant their gold cards though because they don't care about the bling and you get a lot more dust for them.

Speaking of quests though, make sure you do all of the hidden quests to get a bunch of free gold:
- Unlock every class
- Get every class to level 10
- Beat every expert level AI
- Get 100 wins

I definitely didn't get extra dust for de'ing my first legendary. So long Mukla, you gave my shaman all the lightning spells.

devs have also made a post that barring unforeseen extreme circumstances, they won't be changing any more card values pose closed beta.
