Man I got Jaraxxus'd like four times last night. How annoying. I guess it's not that bad as far as legendaries go except for the (basically) free 6/6 minion every turn. Also I think playing it should require a card discard of some sort.

There is a destroy demo card that locks have. Since I've started seeing him a bunch more I've sarted carrying that on my lock as it is an instant kill if facing an opposing lock that uses him.

I modified my deck yesterday. Sadly I have some cool cards but only in singles. First time playing in ranked yesterday and I did fairly well. Didn't played much though since it was a bit late.

I also crafted some stuff yesterday with my low 300 dust, tried to get some useful cards like Sunfury Protector and some useful secrets like Noble Sacrifice just to try them.

Here's the infamously weird Pally deck I use:

Noble Sacrifice (1) 1x
Holy Light (2) 1x
Argent Protector (2) 1x
Faerie Dragon (2) 1x
Ironbeak Owl (2) 1x
Loot Hoarder (2) 1x
Novice Engineer (2) 1x
Sunfury Protector (2) 1x
Aldor Peacemaker (3) 1x
Earthen Ring Farseer (3) 1x
Scarlet Crusader (3) 1x
Wolfrider (3) 1x
Truesilver Champion (4) 2x
Blessing of Kings (4) 2x
Consecration (4) 2x
Hammer of Wrath (4) 1x
Defender of Argus (4) 1x
Blessed Champion (5) 1x
Fen Creeper (5) 1x
Stormpike Commando (5) 2x
Argent Commander (6) 2x
Sunwalker (6) 1x
Guardian of Kings (7) 2x
Stormwind Champion (7) 1x

Seems a lot better to me, I think you will have a lot more consistency with that deck.

I'd ditch the novice eng for either the acolyte of pain or the 2-4 eng w/draw.

I asked myself the same thing. The Loot Hoarder is doing the "draw" job for a 2-mana minion and the Gnomish Inventor as a bit more punch.

And the Acolyte of Pain...that's a great idea, never though about it. I think I have 2 of those...

Hm I'm not too sold on acolyte of pain for a pally deck, imo it's best for classes that can deal damage to it themselves (mostly mage and warrior). Most of the time you will get only get 1 card out of it.

But, it's probably a good idea to play around with the different draw options and see which works best for you.

started an arena couple days ago, saw the chars and left it till last night. ended up going with the shammy and doing a bit of a rush style deck, crushed the first guy and though it'd go better than I first thought, then card draw order killed me and it finished 2-3.

then started another and took a pally, during card selection had choice of tirion, alex, or moz and went with tirion. at the point I was 5-0 thought I may hit 9 or beyond, first lost had both of us sub 5 health and he drew a taunt card that kept me from killing him then he finished me off. next loss was when he drew a 2nd ooze (who picks two of those in arena?) that cleared ashbringer or he would have died. 3rd was really crappy draw order killing me.

Got my invite the other day. Been rolling with a Pally deck and doing rather well though I haven't yet stepped into ranked.

so i've been playing since last night. i won't be continuing. i do, however, wish i was the one that completely ripped off m:tg, threw out 3/4 of the rules, and made it pretty.

1. too easy
2. on rails
3. pay to win

No, there won't be any more resets.

I personally think this is a horrible idea, as fighting veterans with excellent cards with basic cards just isn't fun. But I know lots of people have spent tons on this game already, so a reset wouldn't really be fair either.

Contrary to what hardhat has heard, I read that accounts will be reset when it goes live, and people will receive the value of gold previously spent on card packs and arena entries. They will not receive the exact same cards they had before. They'll have to gamble on card packs or craft them, same as before.

Have heard the same thing although for some folks this will not matter. I know of at least one streamer that had $300 donated to his stream which he used to purchase packs. He now has every card in the game and golded his main decks. There are some folks that have spent sufficient funds on the game that even a reset will not affect them. All in all I think that's fair though since it wouldn't be nice to not compensate folks for the time and money they've put into the game.

As we have mentioned, we are not planning on or anticipating another wipe. For more information, please refer to our FAQ.

Will the cards I earn or purchase in the beta test carry over into the live game? What happens if I purchased beta card packs for real money?
At this point in the closed beta, all purchases will exist in your game going forward. Also, as a thank you for testing out the in-game store during Hearthstone’s beta phase, everyone who purchased a card pack or entry into The Arena in the beta test will receive a Golden Legendary card, Gelbin Mekkatorque.

Definitely plenty of Pros and Cons for a reset.

It is getting hard to avoid the pay -to- win factor in games these days. Is there card trading or some sort of plans for a market in Hearthstone?

At any rate I have tried every digital card game I can get my hands on and right now this one looks to be the most promising.

Any classes particularly OP right now?

a reset really wouldn't matter, as just like in the previous reset all they did was refund you as gold so if you wanted you could then immediately rebuy a crapton of packs and just start reopening.

I don't think it's so much pay-to-win honestly (the card crafting is a pretty effective system really although I think common cards are slightly too expensive to craft) as much as it's just a matter of some cards being too good and there being no restrictions on deck building to not stack legendaries to the ceiling.

A card like Rag or Alexstraza or Jaraxxus is pretty broken all on it's own, but even more reasonable legendaries are very difficult to control when you can play them all together because of the sheer amount of presence/control they provide, Cairne/Cenarius/Tinkmaster/Black Knight come to mind. I don't mind that I don't possess the cards, I mind that their effects are so strong and they can just all be put together.

Like I said before, I would love to see ranked/casual split into leagues of some sort which basically constrict legendary placement. Beyond that I think some of them could stand to be pretty toned down on their own but I don't see that happening. Part of what makes the game so marketable is that people like having those super powerful cards and get fun out of overwhelming their opponent. I get that and I fully expected it, but I hope Blizzard will eventually provide a venue of some sort for other player styles as well.

I'm playing a lot of Ranked games and while I spent a generous amount, I must be sucking at this game hahahha.

I'm Ranked 17 for now and can't seem to do better than that. I'm mostly playing on my Pally deck and having fun with it but I can win 4-5 games in a row and lose as much right after my streak.

But it's a damn fun game THAT IS NOT RELAXING AT ALL! It's been a long time since I got frustrated by a loss lol and when that happens I have to stop playing for a bit, play something else and come back later, more relaxed...then rince and repeat lol.

My "new" Pally deck that I currently use:

1x Eye for an Eye (1)
1x Noble Sacrifice (1)
1x Argent Squire (1)
1x Sunfury Protector (2)
1x Argent Protector (2)
1x Faerie Dragon (2)
1x Ironbeak Owl (2)
1x Sunfury Protector (2)
1x Loot Hoarder (2)
1x Holy Light (2)
1x Scarlet Crusader (3)
1x Aldor Peacekeeper (3)
1x Earthen Ring Farseer (3)
1x Big Game Hunter (3)
1x Defender of Argus (4)
1x Hammer of Wrath (4)
2x Blessing of Kings (4)
2x Consecration (4)
2x Truesilver Champion (4)
1x Faceless Manipulator (5)
1x Silver Hand Knight (5)
1x The Black Knight (6)
1x Argent Commander (6)
1x Sunwalker (6)
1x Guardian of Kings (7)
1x Lay on Hands (8)
1x Ragnaros the Firelord (8)

Been having great fun especially with Big Game Hunter, Faceless Manipulator and Black Knight. I use a situational combo sometimes when i'm in a winning position where I boost one annoying enemy minion with Blessing of Kings and shot it with Big Game Hunter. Funny as hell especially when I boost an enemy minion, other player emote "Sorry" or "Oops" and then Big Game Hunter.

It's truly only play to win if you're talking about time to acquire cards. They have done nothing to prevent anyone from having any card, just a tradeoff of buying a whole lot up front or slowly getting them by constantly playing and converting gold earned to cards.

Exactly and eventually everyone will get their hands on cool cards, be it by packs or crafting. Sure at first it'll suck when you play agaisnt someone with legendaries but most often then not skill will get you victories, not cards.

Cards can easily override skill. There are cards you just don't have an easy answer to. A turn 8 Rag can decimate you unless you have something to deal with it and even then, it can easily give the opponent board control and a win.

And then you have to figure in how often Blizzard will add new cards. The people willing to pay will always have an edge, but that is the nature of TCG. Arena is a great equalizer, but you have to be willing to just do drafts each session.
