Too many people butthurt.... All you need to ever remember against a hunter is to not put a bunch of weak minions out on the playfield. Then unleash the hounds don't hurt that much.

the nerfed unleash the hounds getting nerfed again.

It was buffed before... use to be 4 mana. I welcome the change. Most annoying card in the game. Hunters are generally the dumbest players in the game.

If it was buffed, then I wonder why blizz gave bonus dust when getting rid of it and why so many hunter players didn't like the change at the time.

Yah, cheapie Buzzard + unleash + hyena was a nasty combo that was cheap to do when it was appropriate. More so with more of any of those 3 cards that could be played. The +1 to all beasts was nasty in that combo as well for a single mana cost. Done right after turn 4, it was basically a board wipe against the hunter's opponent, sometimes some extra damage, and the hunter gets far more cards into their hand than they used. Zero risk for a crap ton of reward for very low cost.

I think they just give full dust whenever a card is changed regardless of what the change is.

Well, I ran into someone else who had obviously never played against a hunter last night (or certainly seemed that way from the stupid mistake they made at the end). It was a really tight fight against a rogue. They had me down to 4 health around turn 10 or 11, and I had been getting crap cards, but finally had in my hand the combo from hell

On the previous turn I had played the stormwind champion (or whatever it is that gives +1/+1 to all minions) and they made the mistake of letting it live (killing my taunt and getting me down to 16 health). I then played one of my 2/1 draw card when beast played, a scavaging hyena, and a 3/6 taunt. The enemy played a card that litterally had everything (taunt, divine shield, a deathrattle) and then proceeded to play another 3 or 4 low level minions (two of the 3/2 +1/+1, and the orc that gives +1 attack to all minions). Pretty much filling the field with minions, and then killed my taunt and did 10 damage to my character leaving me with 4 health. I only had 3 cards in my hand, both unleash the hounds, and a 1/1 timber wolf +1 damage all friendly beasts.

I draw the second scavagening hyena, I play it, and get a 1/1 warthog +charge, I play unleash the hounds and get the second timber wolves +1 damage all beasts, and two 1/1 warthogs+charge (as well as bunch of my spell cards). I kill a hound against the divine shield, kill another hound against the taunt, kill a third hound against the taunt, kill another hound against on of the 3/2, play the second unleash the hounds, kill another hound against the other 3/2 play the 1/1 timber wolves, kill the 4/5 yeti with the 2 more hounds (+1/+1 from stormwind, +2 from both timberwolves, for a 4/2), kill the orc commander and the last minion he had out on the table. At this point my scavaging hyenas are now 21/13. I attack him with the one that can attack, hit him for another 5 damage from the 2/1 draw card (which is bonused to 5/2 now), and when I was about to hit him for the last 4 health with the stormwind, he self-destructs...

I decided to mess around on my Shaman last night, and I showed this poor Priest why playing Deathwing is not always a good idea. The Priest was actually beating me up badly for the beginning of the game because I lacked good minions to play. The biggest problem that I run into is that I end up having too many spells and not enough minions. That may not sound bad until you realize that it's stuff like Windfury. Another problem is that I was too hesitant on using Rockbiter on myself and taking out his minion that gains +2/0 whenever a minion is healed. I decided to drop a totem, and I go the worst one: Searing. He ended up killing the totem, and healing the unit again to raise it to a 6/3 (also did a +1/1 to it). So, I could have taken a much smaller hit earlier, which I should have done.

Anyway, I eventually got the upper hand with a Boulderfist Ogre that had Windfury. After I dropped another one, he decided that he needed to clear the board in the most drastic way possible: Deathwing. I just used the Sorry emote, and used Hex on Deathwing. I'm pretty sure that he was not pleased by this. I don't recall him staying alive too much longer after this as I setup some minions and used my remaining Windfury with a Bloodlust to destroy him.

I concede if I'm going to lose, UNLESS the person earned it. Then, I let them get the killing blow.

I always give the GG (Well Played) and concede. I like to think it's about not dragging it out, and you're also aware that you cannot win.

Speaking of the "GG", I sometimes feel rather limited by the emote system. I guess it's just my cynical nature, but the emotes leave so much open to interpretation. Am I being a sarcastic dick by using Well Played at the end when I trounce someone? I know that I'm not, but they have no idea! Hell, if StarCraft II, a game with excessive use of the hands (at least by the pros) can still allow for a little typing, we ought to have something in Hearthstone that's a little more robust. If they're worried about people being too chatty, maybe just limit it? Three chats per turn or something?

i'm very impressed by hearthstone. easy to pickup, very addictive.

way better than HOTS (which IMO is too simplified of a MOBA)

A lot of people in the reddit thread are raging at the prices, but TBH seems fair enough to me. I have plenty of gold saved up.

Still, I wouldn't complain if it turns out to be cheaper in practice.

Yes, I've been playing warlock zoo and I've been running into opponents at rank 11 that are playing decks specifically designed to counter me. Mainly decks that run bloodknight for no reason other than to take advantage of my divine shields.

What rank are you? I find this highly questionable.

The mage deck carried me from r16 to 10 this morning. Then I started seeing a lot of ramp-druid and control-priest decks, which also gave me trouble- they just didn't seem to exist in my meta until around noon EST.


It was working great against hunters, rogues, other mages, and the slower warlock decks [edit: and warriors, boy did it kill warriors good]. But with the meta shift I'm going to put it aside for now.


Switched back to my heal-filled paladin deck to crush these silly druids.

What's your overall focus in the deck? I've been playing my Mage a bit, and I'm starting to have the same issue as my Shaman: I get stuck with spells. I'm starting to simply discard any spell that I get at the beginning of a game... except for maybe something like Rockbiter Weapon or Arcane Explosion (if I have a +spell damage minion).

I've also been messing around with some more gimmicky cards like the Questing Adventurer. The problem is... I don't think that's a very good card for my Mage. It's a 3-cost card, which can be killed by a good deal of the 2-cost cards. I've found decent success with it in the late game as I can play it and a few other cards at the same time. However, unless I can get an early taunt down or coin into Pint-Sized Summoner on turn 1, which effectively makes Questing Adventurer a 2-cost minion, I just don't think it's worthwhile.

Had my first 0-3 arena run in a long long long time. Selected druid since it would complete a quest, and had fairly mediocre draft possibilities including 1 non-spell taunt and only one card with card draw.
