There was a big reddit thread on yogg. Statistically, each cast is much more likely to benefit you than the opponent. When 20+ casts occur, it's almost impossible for the final result to be beneficial to the opponent.

Why? While targeted spells will randomly target, a lot of spells in the game just don't have targets at all, and are simply cast and benefit the caster. For example Mind Blast, almost any AOE, draw spells, some healing spells will only benefit the caster. There are enough spells like this that statistically yogg is overall beneficial *most* of the time.

No doubt, it's just not possible for a lot of spells to hurt the caster in anyway (though I hear Sprint is fun if you're in fatigue lol). I think as long as it doesn't go nuts with damage to your face or board clear (or secrets maybe) you can weather it. But every now and then it will just straight up nuke you down too.

Yeah, I crafted a few legendaries with the dust I had saved up. I opened 5 or 6 legendaries, of which 3 were dupes, so more dust...

I picked up some of the classic legendaries that I had been debating, mainly because they will never go out of standard mode, unlike these which will be gone in a year or so. So I picked up hogger, barron geddon and (I forget its name, but the legendary demon that summons a 2/1 for each card played).

I still have another 9k dust. I know I got Yogg, but can't remember the other ones (one was definitely a class specific, but I think the other was any class). I did get least 1 copy of every new epic except 1 of them (and got 2 for most of them).

After dusting, I think I had something like 12k dust from the all the old duplicates that I kept while waiting to see what cards actually were nerfed. I had at least 5 or 6 big game hunters, so I made out pretty good by not dusting stuff after knowing there was going to be card changes.

Think i'll make a yogg freeze mage deck tonight, other than only having one blizzard spell, should have everything I need (including 2 of the new shatter spells) and yogg).

Speaking of which, the premade decks are quite nice, just wish they had more for each class.

I got a good amount of legendaries. Gold Yogg was the first and I need to spend a little more time developing a Yogg deck. But to be honest I'm having the most fun with a C'thun based druid deck I put together.

C'Thun decks don't seem like fun to me. The class cards' bonus effect (armor, heal, etc) proc too easily. Then it's just a coin toss to see if you draw it by turn 10. Priest just seems ridiculous now. Between C'thun card and the new 4/5 heal 5 minion, they have 30 healing built into their deck that comes with solid bodies.

Got kinda bad luck on my initial packs. The 13 free packs plus the 50 from the pre-purchase plus 80 packs from gold and I got 4 legendaries. All the commons, missing 3 rares.

While deciding what to craft I've been playing a dragon priest deck that doesn't use a whole lot of cards from Old Gods. 2 deaths, 2 entombs and a mind control that catches everyone off guard. Use 2 deaths / 2 entombs and they feel safe to play C'thun or Tirion.... HAHA gimme, gimme. Been using Curators instead of Northshire Cleric for extra cards with only cycle draw from PW:S and Azure drakes. Played 2 evenings to get from rank 11 to 5. Gets destroyed by miracle rogues that have been popping up, but has strong matchups against warrior and druid C'thun decks, and reasonable matchups against the aggressive decks thanks to the strong stats from the dragon synergy minions if you draw at all decently in the early game. (though sometimes you get horribly wrecked when you don't draw well... like coined out Flamewreath without a Death in hand.) I'm running Sylv, Chrommag, and Ysera as top end. If I'd have opened N'zoth, I'd consider it instead of one of the top end dragons just to have a 2nd or 3rd Sylvanas. Sylv is so good right now.

No coin toss at all to have C'thun dawn really. Pop in 2 of the 6 mana cards that will draw a 10 cost card at the start of your turn and all you need to do is have one of them survive to your next turn and you will have C'thun in your hand (assuming you don't have other 10 cost cards).

I tend to play that on turn 9 after forcing the other player to use a bunch of their removal spells/cards on previous turns. At that point, they have to make a decision on if I do or don't have C'thun in my hand already, because they will either then waste another removal when I already have C'thun in my hand or save the removal for after I play C'thun. Add in the 2 cards that bring back C'thun if he was already dead and it is a fun hand.

Control warrior has been so busted for a while now.

If you argue that playing against face hunter/face shaman where they do nothing but attack face is annoying, control warrior is equally annoying to play against on the other end of the spectrum.

Double execute, double brawl, double shield slam, 50 armor tank up. It is just as stupid to play against as face decks.

It was perfect back in classic where running more than 1 brawl was considered bad and almost never seen.

Whats a good noob deck to play right now? I have some cards but I haven't really played since Nax was released. Need something that's cheap to help me get back into the game.

150+ packs so far and no Old Gods opened yet... I ended up crafting the Twin Emperor and 2x Crazed Worshipper (epic) just so I could play a C'thun deck. I really don't feel like crafting the Old Gods in case I open them later.

I've been staying away from constructed and playing arena. I had less than ten arena runs ever done (last one was the free run Blizz gave us on GvG release haha) and only 35 wins with my highest key being 7 (just once). I don't know if it's because there are a lot of new players on arena right now but I'm doing pretty well. I did 12 runs and kept track of my rewards. I averaged 4.5 wins per run. I estimate that I'm around 400 gold better off playing arena over these 12 runs rather than playing constructed and buying packs. I estimated this by assuming 1 dust = 1 gold and also considered that I didn't get 10 gold per 3 wins in arena. I used a tier list to look up card picks initially but now I draft unassisted. I still sometimes look up a card though if it's a new one or a new class I haven't played yet in arena. I don't know how common it is to get legendaries in arena but I haven't been offered one yet.

Wow, the crazy amount of spending on this expansion. Blizzard must be happy. Still haven't spent a cent at least, but man the match making seems to be that those that don't spend money are matched up more often to those that spend a whole lot. Really annoying.

Still, I'm basically forced to play a control priest right now in standard if I am to have any hope of winning games. Just load up on early AoE clears, and save the entombs, mind controls, cabals, and sylv for later. I did get and am also using a couple of the new cards. The healing 4/5 and the 4/3 shifting shadow that grants me a random card from the opponents deck.

Speaking of which, I completely destroyed a control C'thun warrior earlier so thoroughly it was hilarious. He had me down to about 6 hp, but then I came back so completely it was silly. Basically I was able to his own C'Thun against him 6 times. I ended up full health and 9 armor at the end of it. After I beat him, I went back into rank match making and it put me straight against the same guy. He instantly conceded. Was funny.

Did a yogg freeze mage last night. Didn't lose a single game even though the yogg ability seems to go against the caster as much as for him. Once game I probably should have lost I won because I ended up with about 12 secrets after yogg and it kept screwing up whatever the other guy did.

You may be correct, which is also why I used 'about'.

In general still don't understand totally what they are doing with yogg, unless the spell specifically said "enemy", I was taking a good portion of all damage effects.

Yep five is just about equal to twelve

It's just observation bias. Quite a bit of spells in the game are not targetable so overall Yogg SHOULD have a positive outcome for you overall... how ever I think that whoever did that Yogg analysis mentioned earlier may not have considered overdraw caused by Yogg and fatigue damage. It's almost like Blizzard was afraid of Yogg being even remotely competitive so they added DOOM just in case... I wouldn't put it past Blizz..

Ive horded coins for a while and busted about 60 packs and made some random decks. Cthun Druid seems kinda fun, wanted to try and make a mid-hunter but didnt get the right cards for it yet.
