I'm looking to buy a heat gun to assist me with getting into hardware that is glued together, i.e. mobile tablets, touchscreen laptop screens (the lcd is often glued to the digitizer glass) and other similar I.T. things.
I've no idea of the required power needed as I've never owned one.
On the ifixit website they recommend & sell one that is 1400w with 2 heat settings giving approx 300 degrees & 500 degrees respectively.

I don't want one that is super powerful as I'd be concerned about overheating & damaging things, but it must be good enough to do what I've listed above.
Any thoughts or comments please?
