Which HS using 120mm fan is trouble-free with high profile Memories when the first slot is occupied?
It looks like Gaia, which is shallow with 50mm depth is quite safe in this regard, but Hyper 212, which is in shallow side but at 80mm seems troublesome, at least for some boards.
I'm looking for a quiet one with 120mm fan and decent performance.
Not for OC, but more toward quiet one.
I think many of hs with 92mm fans are at least as deep as Hyper 212.
By the way, Heatsinks with 92mm and blowing down ones are compact enough no to reach the ram banks?

The fan on the 212+ will slide up if you need a little more clearance. Here it is on my Gigabyte mobo... it pretty much covers the #4 RAM slot (not in use) but I would only have to slide it up about 1/4" to clear the RAM (G.Skill Sniper) I'm using.

An even better solution would be to use low-profile RAM (Corsair XMS3 or Crucial Ballistix comes to mind,) or RAM without a heatsink.

EDIT: After re-reading the OP, you state you are using high-profile RAM... if it's something like Corsair Vengance, I would probably put the 212+'s fan on the other side... no clearance problems then.

@Dooujin.
Is there any room left.
I don't have the mobo yet, so I can't mesure.
It might little narrower than your board.

@charlie98
I'm gonna get the board the link.
So the 4th spot is occupied by low profile ram, you still have raise the fan, not going under safely?
I thought only 212 Evo can raise the fan, then what is the difference btw plus and evo?

@ravenseal.
So the ram in the closest spot is under the hyper 212+

Also my concern is the height.
I think Gaia and Hyper 212 is 159mm.
My case is pretty narrow, 8.17 - 8.30 inches.
Not sure if it will fit in, also it will be hard to raise the fan.

@ravenseal.
Thanks for the pix.
What is the mobo?
One of GA Z68?
And the case is a full atx?
Yup 9 inches wide.^^
Looks like you have some room over there heightwise.
Is it around a couple of inches there?
Looks like it won't fit with any ram w/hs.
And can get by with a thin profile fan.

It would clear my low profile ram if it went over them. Theres some room. It wouldnt touch them if they were the tall vengences plus they slim down towards the top. and as for the room on your mobo. To me it looks like it would fit but might be pretty close to touching. How many sticks of ram are u gonna use cuz if its only two you'll have plenty of room as they'd be in the white slots.

You should be able to get by using a low profile fan, I however, can't think of the name I have in the tip of my tongue.

All the info regarding my rig in located in my signature

I'm planning 4 pieces of ram w/hs.
Gaia looks like safe bet with high profile rams - enough room in width.

Well, could it clear Ripjaws height-wise?

Appreciate your help.

LOL, I saw your case in your sig, but didn't think about the mobo.
Thanks for your help.
Btw, what does p/p mean?
A fan, but not stock?

Push/Pull.

As you can see, I have 1 fan blowing air into the Heatsink and 1 fan pulling air out. Both at the same CFM/RPM in order to keep air pressure stable.

It wont clear those ripjaws height-wise. With the look of the pics that charlie98 posted it should clear width-wise easily. And if your case is atleast 8 inches wide it'll fit as long as there isnt a side fan above it.

On my Giga board the #4 slot is against the CUP, some are the other way around... I don't know about the MSI.

If you have low profile RAM I think the 212+ fan would clear it in it's stock position. The fan just clips on, you can orient it however you wish, or even remount the clips for a 'pull' setup (but that would be woefully inefficient.)

The Evo may be a slightly 'cleaner' design, I know the heatsink area is better matched than the Plus.

I didn't measure the height last time I had it out... didn't think of it.

It wont clear those ripjaws height-wise.

Yes, I wouldn't want to try to run Ripjaws (et al) with the 212+ and the RAM slots that close... but your board may be different.

What MSI?
I think my future board is identical at least on the area.

Can you put the ram you have on the picture to 4th slot with that setup?
And your ram stick's HS is placed little big higher than normal but without any fins?

Also can I switch the fan with any other low profile 120mm fan?
Looks like it won't make that close contact without the plastic clamping part.

Thanks.^^

Lol the one on the left looks taller in the first picture, but I know they have same dimension, also Evo is little liter.
I thought Evo would be heavier by the first look, more copper.

Does Evo make a big difference?

Thanks.
