There was talk at dvdtalk.com that the extended edition will be bare-bones, 1 disc w/ the extra footage and comentary, that's it.

It certainly wasn't as good as it should have been. I have a feeling Del Toro got shafted by the studio because the director's final cut was obviously long (probably around 3 hours). That's why there's an extra THIRTY MINUTES or something like that of extra scenes that were cut. I have a suspicion that these missing scenes would have made it a much stronger, better film.

If the Best Buy promise of receiving $5 in Digital Dollars is the deciding factor for you, I'd think twice. I have been waiting 7+ weeks to receive the digital dollars they owe me and they are telling me they need another 2 weeks to research the issue. Attempting to be able to talk to a Customer Service Rep who can actually resolve the issue is impossible.
