Another made up thing to classify something.

Hey - this way we can blame millennials AND gen xers for all the problems

trust me, facebook isn't worth it. i don't really go there anymore because so many people make it a P&N-style cesspool.

Yeah the last year and a half has really gone downhill as everyone feels like everyone else should be argued with and insulted

On a tangent, I don't really think fake news is a new thing, because people in our age bracket lived off a lot of made-up tribal knowledge simply because people didn't know.
Stupid people believe stupid shit. Always have... The whining about the Russians has been getting on my nerves lately. It's a ploy to reduce anonymity, and to further restrict speech. The Russians played the game the way it's supposed to be played. It's up to the individual to be always skeptical, and not be a dumbass.

I fall smack in the middle of that, born 1981.

I also made my first mix cd in like 10+ years last Sunday to keep in my car to listen to when sports radio isn't on. It's probably the best CD I've ever made and has like 140ish tracks on it in MP3 format. I wish my car could read DVD's so I could put even more songs on it.

As long as I'm not lumped into the loser millennial category, I'm OK.

hard to win when previous generations voted like oblivious asshats and left if so that trying to earn a good education leaves you in a debt that isn't subject to declaring backruptcy but hey I guess they should've planned better and been born to rich parents.

Born in 79.
I hate New Kids.

But yeah thats pretty much me.

Also I'm angry and depressed and cynical and a little bit desperate for a reason to live.
So that makes me a normal Gen-X.

Hold on a second there Skippy.

First, you can blame all the parents that keep thinking their kid is something special and are meant to be in college. The majority aren't. The majority can't accomplish simple tasks like tieing their shoes let alone pass advanced classes for a needed STEM field. You drive up and inflate demand with no overall increase in supply of schools and what are you left with? Increased costs.

Second, rich people are the ones that actually pay their debt. The fact that my kid won't be able to get loans from the government because of my income is absurd. So instead of having a decent pool as any insurance company would, they are effectively asking "Lets get the biggest risk we can find and give them all loans! That sounds like a great idea!"

born in 80, honestly, relate to millenials and gen ex folks well. Though I suspect most millenials think I am old man due to being all grey.

We're Oregon Trail'sters:

https://socialmediaweek.org/blog/2015/04/oregon-trail-generation/

We are basically the last generation that both played outside & also grew up with technology unfolding into our lives in a usable way. The previous generation had it harder, because they had to transition from typewriters, whereas computers were just coming out in grade school, so we had typing classes & Number Munchers and stuff like that. And on the flip side, the kids after us grew up with computers in the home being a normal thing.
Yeah, when I was in middle school, the typing class was a prerequisite for the computer class, and was taught on actual typewriters.

I was also on the "nuke the New Kids" train. My sister adored them, but she was born in '75.

Here's my suggestion - OTG - Oregon Trail Generation.

Even if it doesn't catch on I will still self-identify as OTG if asked.

I wish they would just refer to us as what decade we were born in instead of using these dumb terms. I mean, what is a "micro" generation anyways? How do you even pronounce "Xennial?" Zennial, X-ennial?

Or maybe use clothing styles as generation-labels. Yeah man, I was born in the 70s so that makes me part of the Bell Bottom Generation.

Exactly. Every generation should be defined by the thing that embarrasses them the most.

I should be embarrassed but damn I would still wear these. Look comfy as hell.

These Tshirts were pretty bad though, i remember wearing this stuff in middle school:

You killed 15,000 lbs of buffalo.

You can carry 150 lbs.

Keep hunting? YOU'RE GODDAM RIGHT.

Yeah it seemed amazing that hundreds of millions of buffalo were wiped out until you play 10 minutes of Oregon Trail.
