I thought that distributed computing was used for well, collective good, instead some guys do it because they can passively collect some points, there is nothing to be said about the OPs request we either do or don't overtake their score, either way nothing is changed for anyone so OPs demands are pretty useless and downward absurd.

tell your m8 to stick with case reviews, your mouse reviews are atrocious.

It is friendly competition.
Just poking yaz.

Hopefully we can both increase our output , just trying to drum up some interest.

No apology necessary BrainEater. Canucks are way ahead of us but we are out-producing you right now so we are only about a year away,...............

Careful what you wish for.............

=)

Folding seems to be way down.
Our team is hovering between 15-20 active users.
I really am just trying to prod some life into folding.
----

Let's have a 6 month race for no reason.Just to increase users.Winner gets nothing.seems like fun to me.

You'll have to wait until December, sadly, for our month long Folding competition.

Most of the active posters here like to BOINC their heads against the walls.

We do have a pair of (FAH) Billionaires though. Mark, Pokey, my hat's off to you, sirs!

Keep an eye on this sub-forum, and challenge us then to a team competition!

Last year was my first, but it was the 10th one. Basically, it's an internal race, participants are usually divided into 2 teams and compete against each other.

It's a great opportunity for the BOINC'rs to give Folding a try, as we have many Folder's who participate in our many types of BOINC races (primegrid, Pentathlon, BOINC GT/GP (what the heck is that year long one called petrus?) and the occasional internal race.

Looks like this year we might have ONE TeAm though...and racing some Frenchies.

It is Formula-BOINC, Tony.
We have had a race between Team AnandTech and an other team once ... it was [H]ardOCP and they beat us fair and square. Would be fun doiing it one more time ...

Hi Brain eater (did you attack our Dain Bramaged btw? ), glad to see the misunderstanding has been sorted .

Afraid I'm mostly a BOINCer these days, although I did run F@H 24/7 some yrs ago for a few yrs I mostly only run it for the December race now.

But anyway bring it on if you think you've got the Canucks to do it! (btw, what does Canucks mean?).
Looks like you've got an uphill battle though, going by the past weeks stats on extremeoverclocking you'll have to more than quintuple your output just to hold still

Yep , our team is just barely 20 people right now , but I do know some of us are upgrading soon , so winter is a good time for a friendly competition.
Let's get together and heat our homes while we drink beer and kick cancer in the nuts !

The origin of the term 'Canuck' is vague at best.

I believe (and I'm totally making this up), that the fine folks from Lynchburg, TN invented the term Canuck.

Originally it was two words, and used in the following context: "Canadian? Yuck!"

Over the years, it became the single term we know and use today. Much like the term "Jeet-yit" is a shortened, slang version of the question: "Did you eat yet?"

Well, now the days really ARE getting shorter, and cooler, and I look forward to December when we are inviting some Canucks to our arms race. I meant annual folding competion.

not good for my budget... a race with another team may mean justifying 2 or 3 new cards... I have idle computers. They just need video power. I have 5 with cards, and 5 idle. Theoretically I can do over 7-8 million ppd if I got big enough cards for all my boxes, not touching my existing ones.

Winter is coming.

I'll set up the race the first week end in November.
The rules are still the same ...

1: Have fun.
2: Let others have fun.
3: Crunch as much as you can, as often as you can and as efficiently as you can.
4: Assimilating computers, adding members to the teams, switching teams and borghing is allowed.
5: (Sid's rule) Whistle while you work; DON'T whistle while you sip.
6: (Sid's rule) No pouting.

The goals are still the same:
The primary goal: TeAm AnandTech should climb in the ranks!
The secondary goal: The TeAm shall have a lot of fun!

The link to the the 10th F@H Holiday Season Race. In the OP there are links to all the other Holiday Season Races.

Folding@Home Holiday Season Race is so called because it goes through the Holiday Season from December 1st to January 1st, through December 6th (St. Nicolaus feast, mostly celebrated in Germany and Czechia, Slovakia, Poland and other Slavic countries) December 13 (St. Lucia's feast (celebrated in Sweden), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Second day of Christmas (celebrated in Nordic countries), New Year's eve and New Year's day. It also takes part during Hanukkah (this year December 24 - January 1), the muslim holiday of Mawlid an-Nabī (December 12 or December 17), Rohatsu (Buddhist holiday in Japan, December 8), Milad an-Nabi (Hindu holiday, December 12).
There may be more holidays during this period, but I do not know about them.
Still, there are many feasts and holidays during December, and hence the name Holiday Season Race.
