Ok, so I ordered myself a new motherboard, PSU and when I started assembling my PC, I found out there were no screws that came with motherboard or PSU. As Im new to assembling, my question is, how the **** are we suppose to assemble?

I was fortunate enough to be replacing my old system so could use the screws from that one (even they are not enough). So how do I go about getting myself all these screws, there seem to be different ones for PSU and the motherboard and how do I find out the names of these? & lastly, is it too much to ask these blasted manfacturers to put 4 screws in the box!

Yes, Im fuming right this moment... seriously hope Im missing something here...

All of those screws normally come with the case. Since different cases often use different mounting methods for the motherboard, it makes since for the case to come with the screws and not the motherboard or psu.

Go to lowes or home depot and take one of each type of screw you need. Look for the section with machine screws. They are either metric sizes M3 or M4 or imperial sizes such as 6-32. For screws that small you usually have to buy a 10-pack which run ~$0.75.

The screws that I removed from my old PSU are fairly big (the size of normal outside case screws) but they do not fit the new PSU which requires smaller screws...

I will be doing Klah said. Thnxs for the help guys.

Retail boxed PSU's, or at least ones for the better makers, come with the screws. The case should have come with the rest of the screws you need to assemble the system. Mobo's, in my experience, don't come with any screws.

As was said before, it's usually just the case that comes with the needed screws. My lanboy came with way too many screws, but I guess excess is better than running out...

The lows idea is a good one and cheaper than you can get from the online modding shops.
Make sure you pick up some spacers if they have them. It's always a good idea to have extra.

I've found that sometimes you need 6/40 as well as 6/32 screws... Every case I've purchased [retail] has also come with more than enough screws. As it stands, I have a few containers of mixed screws. Probably more than enough to replace every screw in at least a few systems... That includes mobo standoffs too... I keep them, since you never really know when either you, or a friend, will need some of them.

It's just another reason my place is also dubbed 'tech-central.'
