I have a cable connection and am using the Linksys BEFW11S4 4-port wireless router. 3 of my 4 pcs connect to the internet, but the 4th one will not. The problem started when I updated IE to 6.0. It did not go well at all and would not allow my computer to boot into windows. Prior to the upgrade, there were no problems with any computer connecting to the internet. BTW, this computer happens to be one of two computers plugged into the port. Here is a breakdown of the situation:
-Computer is able to ping other pc's on network as well as on the internet
-Computer is able to ping using host names, i.e. ping www.anandtech.com
-Computer can browse internal network with no problems
-Computer is not able to browse the internet with IE or Netscape
Here is what I've tried to do:
-Reinstalled windows (After I reinstalled windows, I could boot into windows, but no internet connection)
-Reinstall Dial up networking and tcp/ip
-Updated drivers
Computer specs:
PIII 700
128mb ram
15gb hdd
3com NIC
Windows Me (Yeah...I know, but it's all I've got)
If you need more info, please e-mail me at philg@onebox.com or pm me...Thanks for any help
