That sounds about right from what i can see. Check the reviews and look at the 06 scores, not 05.

16XPCIe won't be any faster than 8XPCIe with current cards because even 8X provides more than enough bandwidth. You probably have your mobo set to Crossfire mode in the BIOS. Set it to single card (the mobo may have a jumper or something like it which needs to be set accordingly as well), use the 1st slot and it should give you 16X.

There is no setting in the BIOS or no jumpers and yes I have installed the graphics card on the first slot(orange one). The mobo doucmentation says the bios will automatically set the speed to 16X if no other card is present on the second slot. But looking at all other 3Dmark06 scores with E6600 and 7950GX2 it seems like am getting the average score. Maybe CPUZ bug as it reports the link speed as 8x???

Not a fault m8 or incorrect setup, for some reason the AsusP5WDH will not allow the 7950GX2 to run at 16x pci-e, I spoke to ASUS direct who confirmed that 7950gx2's only run @ 8x, I have to disagree with the above post that 16x pci-e wont make any difference, whilst I agree that a standard 7900gtx or 1950xtx running at 8x or 16x wont make any difference dont forget that this is 2!! cards running on one slot, so effectively its like running a standard card (7900gtx/1950xtx) at only 4x pci-e which would have a performance hit. Saying that I did just score 10435 on 3dmark06 which is nice! However most of that is due to the massive CPU performance from my e6600 @ 3.8ghz. I hope this helps clear the situation up, maybe a future bios release will fix the 8x problem
