help! aim wont work!!

I have aim 5.2 installed and its worked fine since ive had it until today

i come to my dorm room to see that i lost my connection, so i try to sign on again and i cant seem to get past step 2 of the sign on where it verifies username and password and it hangs there for a bit and i get an error saying cannot connect to aim service.

im the ONLY one on my entire hall that this is happening to... whats going on... internet works fine, counterstrike works fine... i cant connect to aim or aim express.

I've noticed that a lot too. My aim will just close and reconnect.

I was starting to have that, so I switched to GAIM. While it was originally designed as an AIM client for Linux, it has been ported to Windows.

more details.... it seems to be happening only with my main aim screenname for some reason

i can connect fine with my alternate name but the main name just will not connect.

btw, i have 0% warning so that isnt the problem either

this is just so weird
