Ok i will tell you what im hoping to do. I am wanting to O/C my current cpu but use the stock cooling. So i know that means i cant O/C much but i would like to increase some. My cpu is a 2.8C M0 stepping, motherboard is P4P800 Deluxe, and the memory is Corsair XMS Twin-X PC3200C2PT which the timings are 2-3-3-6. I have never O/C a cpu so i dont really know what to change in the cmos to O/C.
Right now my idle temp is around 35C. Can someone give me some help. Thanks

well look around for some overclocking guides. firstly donwload prime95 this is used to test if your overclock is stable. then you bump up the fsb in your bios, if it boots run the "torture test" in prime95 to check stability. if you cannot attain a high OC then its time to bump up your voltages (ram and cpu)

Check you temps at stock first. run prime as Sylvanas said. Monitor your temp under load. If its in the high 50s or so dont bother trying to overclock it. otherwise start upping your fsb in small increasments. like 5mHz increasements. Run prime each time to check stability, if its unstable upp the VCore a notch. Hope this helps.
