Help ASAP! Might have bricked Galaxy S3

Hey I'm pretty new to rooting, and I think I might have seriously f'd this one up.

I actually did the root just fine, no troubles with that. I just ran something called saferoot, verified the root and actually made a backup with Titanium (on my PC now). After that, I used an app EZ-Unlock which told me my bootloader was successfully unlocked.

Now comes the rough part. I got ROM Manager and used it to install ClockWork Mod. I hit "Make backup with CWM" it shut down my phone, and now I can't get it to boot at all.

I could really use some help ASAP here, I need the phone. Thanks guys

Thought you were suppose to unlock the bootloader before rooting?

I take it that it doesn't appear to power on at all? Have you tried pulling the battery and reinserting it?

Nah the root worked just fine, I'm positive of that. It was the custom recover that wasn't working.

Yeah I've tried everything I can think of. Really hoping it isn't hard-bricked.

I'm not familiar with this specific phone, but can you boot into fastboot and reinstall recovery from there?

I have rooted and flashed several Android phones for almost four years now and I have never (and won't) used an app (ROM Manager in this case) to install a custom recovery. Never liked the idea of that. It's like flashing a computer's BIOS from inside Windows (read: bad idea).

Isn't there usually an Odin file that you can run to recover back to factory image? Have you checked XDA?

Yes, Samsung phones can typically Odin back to safety.

What OTA were you on beforehand?

If you were on 4.3, yes you probably bricked it. Follow this thread to fix.

Remember, if you are on 4.3 you cannot unlock your bootloader. That means no AOSP ROMs, and now custom recovery. You can use safestrap to get custom Touchwiz roms, though.

I've used ROM manager for years and never once have I had a problem. It's when people don't pay attention and go to flash the damn international version stuff on a US phone that this kind of stuff happens. No need to down talk something you obviously never use

If you were on 4.3, yes you probably bricked it. Follow this thread to fix.

This information is correct, if you are on 4.3 or took an OTA within the last couple of months, you can no longer unlock the bootloader. get Odin 3.09 and reload factory 4.3 image.

Get the 4.3 firmware here for your carrier. Install ODIN and the USB Drivers for your device.

Flash the firmware under the PDA option with the phone in download mode.
