I want to buy a monitor mostly for gaming use. I was thinking about buying the DELL U2412M (I like the 16:10 ratio) but then I thought maybe a 1920X1020 27 inch screen would be nicer. Where I live the only screens with that specs are:

BenQ GW2750HM
Dell S2740L
Samsung T27B300MA
LG 27EA33V
LG E2742V
Samsung P2770HD
Fujitsu SL27T1-LED
Samsung T27A550
(No Asus monitors in my country)

Which one do you recommend? or don't recommend a 27" 1920X1020 at all?

I wouldnt recommend a 1920*1080 27". Either get a (2412M)1920*1200 24" or a (2713)2560*1440 27".

I would say the best monitors on the market right now are the QNIX/X-Star 1440p IPS monitors. Best quality PLS panel, overclockable to 120 hz, and only ~$300.

I can't complain about my U2412M. Dell is a well known brand name, you buy it brand new and know its quality all the way around but you can take the gamble and go for a bigger monitor at the same price from a less respectable company.

Personally i have used some crap ass monitors till i got the U2412m,you could go quantity or quality but personally i went quality and choose the U2412m and can't complain one bit.

As to my mind I would choose some of them - Dell S2740L as well as LG 27EA33V. Certainly, the price differs a little bit, but if I have the suitable budget I would choose Dell monitor. Dell is a known brand and trustful.

Other models are not relevant since those I mentioned are the only monitors available here.
I saw that the Dell S2740L has a mirror liks screen and that bad for me since my screen is in front of the window.
What about the BenQ GW2750HM?

I've had multiple Dell monitors, and always been happy with them, for what that's worth, and mostly heard great things about their high end line (save for one year when the response time was bad, which they fixed the next year).

Regarding resolution, personally 1080p sounds perfectly reasonable to me on 27". It's great on 24", and you'd probably sit back a little bit more from 27", so I doubt it would look like too low resolution or anything. Besides which, just getting hardware to really drive 1080p isn't a cakewalk, let alone higher lol

That's what I thought at first, but I ended up returning my 27" 1080p monitor 2 days after I bought it because it was so pixelated and crappy looking.

Once you see 1440p you'll wonder how you lived without it.

I tried the 23 inch version of that and thought it was crap. black was grey and it had a glow to it that drove me nuts especially in dark scenes. the bottom right of the screen that I tried had massive amounts of back light bleed too.

Yes I have this monitor blacks look black to me, no bleed/glow though as posted in dark scenes for me and no dead pixels. I am happy with this monitor big difference over my Samsung 27" I had on many fronts. If it wasn't it would have went right back to the local store I bought it from.

Edit Just wanted to also mention my Samsung 27" above was a TN panel it was model P2770.
Edit2 I like to be accurate so I tested again and played some dark scene videos one I did notice a little glow in the lower left was The Pretty Reckless (Make Me Wanna Die) on the very begining of the intro (very dark scene) of the song but man you really had to look for it very minimal imo and you really won't notice it unless you look hard for it imo.

Not sure your price range, but I bought a refurb Dell U2713HM (IPS, 25x14) for $400 + tax and shipping. They have sales quite often. I follow dealnews.com for deals.

They also have a Dell 24" 1080p LED LCD Display w/ $100 Dell Gift Card for $181 + free shipping if you want to go cheap.
