Help choosing an LCD monitor out of 3.

Hello all!
My friend needs a 17" LCD. After reading some reviews, he chose 3, and needs help, which one to buy.
REQUIREMENTS: he needs monitor for reseraching&reading - text quality must be astonishing. He does little gaming, too.
His system:
AMD 2400+
512 RAM
FX5700 (VGA+DVI out)
Win XP
monitor 1
monitor 2
monitor 3

well first of all thats a crapy computer, and i wouldnt recomend any of those monitors. i would buy the SAMSUNG 710N-BK Black 17" 12ms LCD Monitor from newegg for $245.00

Hey, MegaVovaN! Thanks for posting this for me. Just a little update: A CRT monitor would do as well, as long as it meets the requirements.

This is a very unprofessional statement. You have not been asked to criticize the computer. You have been asked to help choose an LCD, so do it if you can please thanks.

In reviews to the LCD you offered, many people say that the display has broken pixels. So I think that wouldn't be what I'm going to buy.

Would you mind supporting your choice with a little elaboration, instead of just plainly stating it? Thanks.

I would recommend one of these, as I've purchased a lot of BenQ monitors for work, and have never recieved one with any bad pixels:

The ones you list all have their strengths. The NU has the best response time, the Hyundai is the lowest cost, while the Viewera has the best dead pixel policy, and is the only one with DVI input. I personally wouldn't get an LCD without a DVI connection

17" LCDs have a pixel size that is too small for me - that's why I went for a 19".
