Help! Computer randomly beeps.

Update:

I have upgraded my video card to an ATI 4770. I replaced my OEM cpu cooler with a Scythe Mugen 2, and used IC Diamond 7 thermal paste. I replaced my old case fans with new ones. I removed my old sound card and am using my motherboard's audio. I replaced the motherboard battery as well.

...And I'm still getting occasional beeps. :twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:

If it helps at all, I pretty much never get beeps while playing games. They tend to come when I try to open a file, or browse through a folder, or initially start an application.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure it's a beep, and not the hard drive skipping or something. I've googled my particular hard drives and haven't found any reports of them beeping.

These are the specific model numbers, the seagate is my boot drive:

Why don't you just unplug your PC's internal speaker if it's such an annoyance?

I know this is a necro-thread revival here... but I'm having the same issue with my desktop machine.

Liquid cooled , i73970k, 32gigs corsair vengeance ram, rampage iv board, professional grade digital temp display and thermaltake case.

This thing runs at like 40 C at maximum load. Definitely not a cooling issue.

Same issue though... it beeps randomly. Sometimes it might be in the middle of the night while idle, sometimes it might be while watching youtube, etc. It makes no sense.

I thought it might be a voltage thing but readouts are fine. Basically went through same steps as OP. At the moment I'm just gonna leave it and ignore the beeps. I've had it almost a year now and no problems so maybe it's just a bug in the bios?

I have also had this same problem, annoying random beeps coming not from the speaker but from the motherboard. I fixed this finally a few days ago by simply running an "error check" on my hard drive. Local Disc, Properties under the Tools tab. And I repaired any errors. That stopped the beeps. I assume my hard drive kept hitting bad sectors or generating small errors of some sort which was triggering the beep.

Welcome to the forums, Hollowsong (and Bismuth). It really is best if you start a new thread to discuss your problem, even if it is similar to the one mentioned here. Otherwise people will just wonder why we are discussing a 4-year-old thread instead of focusing on fixing your problem.

Your temperature seems rather high. Intel Ark indicates the maximum TCase temperature is 60.1 C for your processor.

Your screen capture says the CPU temp is 58 C in the BIOS. I doubt that is under load.

Possibly check your CPU fan or remove and reapply the themal paste. Make sure your fan is properly mounted.

Solved!! I was having the same problem, it turned out my mouse was defective and it kept connecting and disconnecting. that was the beeping..
