help! deciding between 660ti and 670, 100 dollar difference!

I've been shopping around for a new GPU to replace my 560ti, and I've decided between the 660ti or the 670. The 660ti has a 40 dollar promotion reducing its total price to 280 INCLUDING tax. The 670 on the other hand, its total price is 380, a one hundred dollar difference! I only play on 1080p. My question is, is that 100 dollar justified by the performance boost!? The only reason why I'm not pulling the trigger on the 660ti right now is because of what I've read about its bandwidth being really limited compared to that of the 670.

First of all, the GTX 770 costs $400 and it puts a GTX 670 to shame.

Why not get a "vanilla" GTX 660? They are less than $200. I don't think that the Ti version is worth the extra $80.

If you're going to spend more money I would suggest the GTX 670. It costs a lot but it represents the best value at the high end right now.

670's should be dropping in price a lot here as the new 770 is out and is listed at $400. The 770 is faster than a 680 (its a slightly clocked up 680 that is rebranded as a 770).

Keep an eye on 670 prices, they should be dropping.

At 1920x1080 the 660ti will do fine even with the most demanding games. But not the right time to buy either the 660ti or the 670. I would wait for the 760ti to be released which I believe is in essence the 670 rebranded. I think its due out July 1st.

Yes, that's a great buy. Now is the time to scour this forum and others in search of a cheap GTX 670 or GTX 680.

I'm waiting for the GTX 760. It'll be about 15%-20% faster than a GTX 660 so I'd wait.

The 660ti has always been kinda awkwardly placed for its price and performance. It should be like 250 w/o a mir but like others have said a 770 is a better deal and the 760ti should be 300. Really at 300 the 7950 is tough to beat.

I would wait. The new 7XX series should push down prices of both NVidia's 6XX series and AMD's 79XX series. If you can wait even longer the new AMD card will come out which should shake up the prices even more, but that depends on your own time frame. The 770 looks really hot, but if you are in the market for a 660Ti the HD7950 is a much better buy for about the same money, and I would expect the 760 or 760Ti to be a direct competitor of those cards as well.

That's a fairly significant difference to me.

The limit of a 192-bit compared to a 256-bit bus will also only matter more as time goes on.
