Help finding studio/1br in La Jolla, CA

I need to move into a studio or 1 bedroom at the end of June. Any suggestions on where to look in La Jolla? Any good resources out there?

look quicky and be prepared to shell out huge $$$, its like $800 minimum a month for studio apt, $1000 for a non-studio

the best u can go for is 2 bedroom nonstudio for $1200 a month and split it with someone. and the utilities are killer cuz its all electric

Some of the highest real estate prices in the U.S. are in La Jolla, top 10, I think even top 5. good luck.

Bring lots of money... but there are places real nice that abut Lajolla... I suggest you broaden your search to within 5 miles of Lajolla.. Pacific Beach, Del Mar and around there

actually that's pretty cheap compared to Southside Berkeley. It gets even more expensive at San Francisco. I suggest you go look at www.craiglist.com for a ton of listings on available apartments.

<~ paying $800/month to share a tiny 2 room apartment with 2 other room mates.

I used to live in the Bay Area with my parents so I've seen cost of living in Northern California.

www.craiglist.com doesn't work... but www.craigslist.org does! Seems to only have listings for the Bay Area, though.

What's your price range?

I used to live on La Jolla Boulevard before I moved to Hawaii in '92 . . . I think I paid less than $500 a month for a STUDIO then; I believe it is $1200 a month now.

I moved to Golden Hill (just out of the Flight path) and got a LARGE 1 bedroom for $650 . . . it's 20 minutes to WindanSea Beach . . . If you live in LaJolla and work outside . . . traffic is horrible.

If you are a student, it's awesome. UTC is really nice just over I-5 and considerably cheaper than La Jolla.

Look for ads in the Reader (linked above) on Thursday AM when the ads are brand new. Don't bother with the rent scams ($25 for an "application" fee/credit check) and try to find a private renter.

my parents own a great house in mira mesa which is only 7 miles from ucsd, the rent is way cheapper then la jolla and its huge, 1800 sq ft 4 bdr, 2 bath, 2 carpot spots pool, jacuzzi, and walking distance from grocery store, movie theater, and a bunch of fast food and restaurants. its awsome.
