Help! GA-7DXR

Hello all, I am having slight problems with this supposedly wonderful board.

1) I want to adjust the multiplier and voltage settings without using dips, how can I do this? The board seems to have chosen to set my voltage at 1.85, so my temps are high. I probably won't vhange the voltage, but I need to know how to do so without the switches!

2) I want to set the FSB to 133 so that the PCI bus is divided by 4 not 3. How do I do this? The manual explains little except to use jumpers 19 and 20, which are not on the board, they are soldered over. How else can I set this? (Edit: solved)

3) My heat is high, I will reseat stuff, but is this board liek those asus ones that read high? I am at 56C now, but the HS is brand new installed and I am at 1.85 volts, so maybe ti isn't the worst thing ever. I will tweak it a bit, maybe try blowing away from the heatsink.... It is the OCZ gladiator BTW.

newegg has them in stock, 189 plus 10 shipping. The board is a great FSB overclocker, although the one that I received does not seem to have vcore settings, which is ridiculous....

I got one from Newegg also. Purchased it last week. I am putting it and everything else together tomorrow.

your temps are HIGH, because this baord has a much more accurate reading than most other boards. it's sensor, which touches the bottom of the CPU, whereas the A7M266 or the 8K7a have only in-socket sensors. A bottom-touch reading is up to 10C higher, according to my experince, so just take 10C away from your reading, than you have a comparable value. The A7M266 or 8k7A readings ARE WAYS TOO LOW.

Same CPU and same setting (temps with MC 462)

A7M266: 32
8K7A: 33
7DXR: 38

Idle and ambiente is 26 C.

You better have a look at the Gigabyte forum of www.amdmb.com ,there are tons of posts about the 7DXR.

I just got mine in from Spartan Technologies after waiting over two weeks for it to stock.

Unfortunately, I've had ZERO luck getting it to take either 98SE or Millenium. Haven't tried 2000 yet, but both other OS installs get to the second reboot, start loading, and then they just reset in the middle of loading! I'm really getting ticked; maybe it has to do with one of my hard drives plugged into the second set of ATA100 sockets (normally reserved for RAID, but I need storage, not speed).

Anyone else heard of any problems with this board or chipset yet?

I am running 98SE fine. The problem is not with the motherboard. Do you have the vcore dip torque?

I have my FSB at 168 now, chainbolt thanks for your review, I was going to get the epox one but you said that it wasn't able to go to as high an FSB as the 7DXR. If it weren't for the stupid lack of vcore adjustment.....
