I just bought a GTX280 and this massive card extends across my sata ports on my motherboard when it's plugged into the x16 pci-e slot. I am currently using 6 of 6 SATA slots for a RAID 5 so moving the SATA cables is out of the question. I currently have the GTX 280 in a pci-e x4 slot which I assume is not ideal. I would like to move the GTX to the x16 slot, assuming that using the x16 pci-e slot will bring a perceivable performance increase.
I have already tried using right angle SATA connectors and it didn't work. The right angle connectors overlap each other and the graphics card will not seat properly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My motherboard is an ASUS P5K Deluxe for reference. Thanks.
