I just got my system hooked togther and everything is set up right. After it boots up it says verifying dmi data pool then says boot disk failure, please insert system disk. I put the boot floppy that came with my hdd in and the boot disk for win 98 and the win 98 cd. It jsut keeps saying that. What do I need to do? Do I need to format the hdd in another computer?

is the OS installed? or are you trying to get it to install? ... if it's a brand new drive, you may need to create a primary dos partition, and format it before installing... if OS is installed, maybe you should re-install it or since it says boot disk failure, go to bios and change the boot sequence to HDD first...

Make sure your boot sequence in your BIOS is set correctly. For instance, it may be set to boot from a zip drive first.

Try making another startup disk on another computer. If that doesn't work, maybe you got a bad floppy. I've had a couple new ones arrive DOA. Both Mitsumis.

I don't have an os installed and I don't think it is a bad floppy but I will try a diferent one tommorrow night
