Thanks for the quick responses. I dug out some space around it and just pushed it into the wall. Hopefully it'll look fine when I spackle over it.
Why? What could possibly go wrong?whatever you do, DO NOT attach elastic bands to that screw thinking you can exercise with it. That screw is not load bearing!
Yeah, anchors can build up some serious momentum.love this thread
I had never used wall anchors until a couple weeks ago. I always found a stud and screwed into it. But I had to mount some crap here at work and there were no studs to be found (where were you highland?), so I had to use anchors.
The first two I used went directly through the drywall. Bye bye! Guess those things don't stop on their own? The next two I used too big of a screw and they started to go through as well. Finally on my 5th attempt I figured out the process. One of these days I will spackle and paint my mistakes. Right now I leave them there to remind myself what a dumbass I am.
Power off...yes. And that looks like a self balancing fan from the "ball" on top. If, for some reason, it isn't...take it back.
What does "self-balancing" do?Power off...yes. And that looks like a self balancing fan from the "ball" on top. If, for some reason, it isn't...take it back.
It's only half on one ball. Not a problem, right?quit looking at his balls
Because someone could have wired to the light and then to the switch....better safe than dead. OP could get a line tester if he's going to continue doing his own work. It's not good enough to turn off the light switch?
