I just installed my digi docII & wasnt sure where to place the probes. I put the odd probe(there was 1 that was flatter than the other 3) real close to the core of the cpu, if not on it.
My case is off for my GFD but heatplate is still
intact, so I managed to get the probe between the heatplate & core. It is touching the thermal paste. So Is this where it should be? If so is it dangerous for the temp(123f idle) to be this high?

What should the temp be for a T-bird 700@900 2.00vcore with plenty air cooling? Also where should the probe go on my geforce 64mb? I have it right under the heatsink up against the chip.
The temp is 106f idle, card is o/c to 235 core/ 385 mem.

The case temp(inside) is 84 in midday here in Cali where its hot right now!

System:
T-bird700@900 2.00vcore
k7m mb bios 1009
prophet geforce2 64mb
mx400
250psx(I know I need more!)
lots of air cooling-tornado1000 with extra fans
10xDVD=40xrom
Duel boot-98se & win2k pro

That voltage is gonna fry your cpu, mock my words. Take my advice and at least lower it to 1.9,which is the borderline.

My AMD K6-2 is rated at 2.3 V, and it runs at 2.33 V. This is really high (apparently, from what you guys said), and I just found out last night that I have heat problems in my new case (Supermicro SC750-A). I wonder if it's the voltage. What do you guys thing of this situation

I forgot: I don't use thermal paste, have one fan in the case blowing on my PCI cards, one directly on the CPU, and one chassis fan blowing out at the top of the case (along with the power supply fan). I'm thinking of adding another 8MM fan blowing in on the bottom of the case (which will blow directly on the CPU.

descend,
my k63-450 runs at 2.4
my k6-2 runs at 2.2v,
these older k6 series did run at a higher voltage,
the athlon classics and newer benfit from the improved .18 an .13 micron aseembly,so they do run at a lot lower voltage.
so,please dont confuse your with these athlons or newer p3's.
