I have rail wedgies! Yes, rail wedgies, little pieces of cardboard wedged in the rails holding my drives (Drives don't screw into place they slide in.)in the bays of my enlight 7237 case to keep the drives (mostly cd-rom drives) from vibrating. It drives me crazy having a vibrating drive when I am loading or installing something. The wedgies work for the most part but sometimes when I move my case around or have to fiddle with the innards, they get lose and start vibrating again. What can I do to fasten my cd drives securely to my case without damaging anything? It's the only thing I hate about this case.

mellondust, have you tried double-stick tape on the cardboard pieces to keep them in place? Another option might be foam padding similar to what's used for insulating cracks. It usually has a sticky back to hold it in place, and it would be a good vibration dampener.

Why not loosen the screws and put some shim material between the rail and the drive. This will make the fit tighter and free you from you noise woes.

I have wedgies for my case fans...the plastic holder in my Antec was vibrating loose. Can you try actually screwing the cardboard "into" the drives? I mean that you would put a screw into the drive bay, which then goes through the cardboard, and then screws into the drive?

But, you can also find rails in the FS/FT forum.

take a pair of pliers, and bend the metal guides for the rails inward, to make the slot smaller. i had to to the opposite to make my rails fit.

Thanks all for the help. Those are some great ideas.

And yes, the case has drive rails, they are just smaller than the guides so they can move around which is to much movement.
