I have a homebuilt running an AMD 1700+ on a Shuttle AK31A motherboard.
I decided my 4in1 drivers (which were part of the original installation over two years ago) must be getting a bit "long in the tooths" So I went to the Shuttle web site and downloaded the newest drivers for my MB. I ran the executable file from windows and it went through a normal install wizard routine... then said to restart the computer to complete the installation.
When I restart the computer the "found new hardware" wizard pops up and want to install the drivers. However, when I point the wizard to the folder of drivers I downloaded from Shuttle.... it says there is no compatible driver there to install (there are folders for 95/98/millenium/Win2K, but no XP). I check with VIA and they have nothing either. So every time my computer starts it is looking to finish this wizard and install the drivers...
How do I...
1. Actually get the current 4in1 driver that is compatible with XP for my mainboard... (I have emailed Shuttle and they just point me back to their web site) where I have the only drivers they have posted for the AK31a?
2. Kill this wizard so it does not try to install non-existant drivers each time I start the computer?
Thanks,
Steve
