Help identify the noise

Makes what I can only describe as a "creaking" noise from the driver's side front wheel-well when making a slow fairly sharp turn.

Thoughts? Predictions?

I'd be curious about this as well. My Mom's Grand Prix does the same thing, but just randomly (so it'll go away for months, and then it'll do it regularly for like a week then go away, same driving conditions/situations). Sometimes it sounded like the strut/shock bottoming out, and have checked things out but nothing visually wrong and trying other things can't get it to make it.

Maybe a leak in one of the control arm bushings? Had that happen on the g35 that i drive. When I took it to the dealership recently to get a check engine code read they noticed I had leaks on my compression rod/control arm bushings.

Kinda hard to see, but theres a small dark crease where the rubber bends in that picture.

Could be any number of spots down there. CV joints, ball joints, tie rod, bushings. A mechanic can get it on a lift and have someone turn the wheel and they should be able to find the culprit pretty quickly.

I'd say 99% of it is when turning right.
Can't recall it making the noise to the left. If it does it's WAY less pronounced.

But nobody here can tell you with any degree of certainty what it is because as was said, it could be a number of different things.

Could be sway bar bushings or end links also. So now there's even more possibilities. We're not there, we can't hear it, so we can only take educated guesses.

First thing I'd suspect is sway bar bushings as Boomerang mentioned, as turning the van loads the van's weight laterally (body roll), of which the sway bar compensates for by equalizing the load on the suspension.

You can test this out by pushing the front bumper up and down at the corners and getting at least three inches of bounce travel either way. If the squeaking starts, then spray some soapy water into the sway bar bushings and bounce up and down again. If it still squeaks then spray the end links next. If the squeaking stops then install new sway bar and end link bushings.

Just a heads up, If you opt for longer lasting polyurethane bushings, then make sure you lube the bushings with the proper silicone based synthetic waterproof grease like the stuff that prothane and energy suspension uses in their installation kits.
