Help identifying this connector...

I have a bunch of these cables... one end is a standard 4-pin SVideo male plug (with the horizontal plastic tab) and also a single RCA-type cable (maybe video, maybe audio, don't know).

The other end has a very odd 5-pin mini-din connector with a vertical tab. It looks like it would probably fit into a PS2 port. It looks something like this:

Any thoughts? what does this cable do? what systems is it designed for?

looks like S-Video in or out.........if you got a TV card or all in wonder from ATI itll do both.....if its just a Video card itl probably be video out........its for connecting to TV's n VCR's n stuff like that

I looked at Computer Cable Finder and saw nothing there that matched.

Might be something brand specific

Anyone seen this cable? Maybe it's brand specific. I have a box full and I think they might have originally shipped with a Dell Precision workstation... but the machines I think they were with did not have any unusual hardware other than an nVidia Quadro4 video card and i don't think those had an S-Video port....

Maybe it wasn't with that hardware, but I think it might have been.

There's no tags on it or labels otherwise.

its a videocard specific svideo out / rca out. the extra pin is the rca output.

My guess would be Dell. Only because I have read that they favor proprietary hardware, that keeps purchasing in house. It sure wasn't to be found at CCG. Plus the fact that you have a bunch of them and Dell sells a bunch of
computers.

If you say they came with Dell machines, I'm going to say they are used for the ATI Radeon 7000VE. It has proprietary DVI type connectors and adapters. So your cable just may be a tv out for that card.
