My friend has an HP laptop with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office pre-installed on the computer. I'm assuming it's the latest version. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but she says when she opens up a new document, she can type about three or four words before it becomes nonresponsive. Needless to say she is in college and has papers to write.
I asked her if she kept Vista updated, and she tells me she has it on the automatic updater. I suggested a complete uninstallation and reinstallation, which I am doing tomorrow morning. But I am not all that familiar with Vista errors, or apps running through Vista. So my question is this:
1) Do you think a reinstall should fix the problem?
2) Are there any known bugs in Microsoft Word when operating through Vista that would cause this problem?
3) Would the Microsoft Office Service pack 3 update most likely fix this?
4) I heard something about a .Net fix in office?
Anything else I should be aware of?
Your thoughts?
