Hi,
I really need help in figuring this one out. I have a Maxtor 4.3 Gig drive. I took it off my computer and placed it into my friend's computer to help him back up his files before he reformats his HD. We had no problem moving his files onto my computer.
When he was done reinstalling Win 98 onto his HD his new Win 98 sees my HD but under property it has it as 0 bites capacity, 0 bites used space, 0 bites available space!
I took this drive and placed it back into my computer and it wont boot! The CMOS sees it during the initial boot up and in Fdisks the computer knows the size and the type of format for the HD. But that is about it! It tells me missing operating system?
What should I do? Is it a MBR problem? If so since the drive is 4.3 Gig is this a problem for the DOS MBR?
