I was running a P3 in a MSI 6163pro motherboard. (i440BX chipset) The processor was a 1Ghz with 256K L2 cache and 100Mhz FSB. It was a Flip Chip type, not the slot 1. Anyways, it's fried now and I need a replacement. I checked on pricewatch, and the cheapest this processor goes for is about $200. I want to know if I can put a Tualatin chip in the board instead. I know they are 133 FSB, but if they were to be underclocked to 100Mhz would it work? I thought I heard something about Coppermine and Tualatin being uncompatable, but I'm not sure. Another option I was thinking of was a Celeron 1.4Ghz since they already use the 100Mhz FSB, but I don't know if that core will work in this board either.
