Help me choose between these 2 PSU

Which of the Two PSU is better ? Both are known PSU brands ... I wouldn't mention the brand name so there will be no bias , both are rated at 500w , PSU ratings were tested at operating temperatures according to manufacturers

well there is more to 'better' than just the listed specs. how is the quality of construction? can it actually meet it's specs? what are its safety features?

those are the important sort of questions that can't be answered without either a unit in hand, or failing that, a model name so reviews can be researched

but just as a game, B looks like an older design with its heavy emphasis on 3.3 and 5 V lines

A is rated to provide more power on the 12V line, which is more important nowadays

does that mean A is better than B? not by a longshot

In this case, it's probably more helpful to give the brand names (and model numbers for that matter) than to leave them out. There's more to a PSU than the sticker on the side.

You will probably want to list the model and manufacture despite the bias towards which OEM or company. Just for example let's say both uses the same OEM company but one company is less strict on standards than the other, the result is one would be using higher quality capacitors (eg. rated for higher temperatures) than the other and other spots they can cut corners; like single layer and dual layer pcb's.

I think a great example of that example of that would be if you looked at the Antec Earthwatts series and the Corsair HX series, both same OEM, only difference is the build quality. Antec has lower temp. capacitors and single layer pcb, the Corsair units do not.

As someone already said, their's more to a psu than just the sticker.

Mentioning just wattage specifications isn't just useless, it's misleading. A LOT of power supplies cannot handle the specifications that are labeled. It's due to crap quality, bs marketing, and other things. Also you're missing a ton of other specifications such as efficiency, apfc, dc quality, ripple, etc.

12v rails appear to be better on PSU A which is generally the most important rail. But brand and quality are too big of a factor to ignore. If they are of equal quality PSU A.

The Op is wasting everybodys time if all he is going to do is list the specs of the labels....
the specs by themselves mean nothing!
